Ok so I've settled on a scar-vet with light armour and shield, burning blade of chotec and amulet of itzl for 143pts.
S5 and -4 to armour save makes him fairly choppy, 3+ armour and 5+ ward should keep him around (hopefully)
Any thoughts?
The amulet of Itzl isn't a 5+ ward, it is a one use 2+ ward, you are thinking if the glyph necklace.
But the amulet is better to be honest.
The two main builds I run are
Scar Vet, cold one, light armour, biting blade, charmed shield, dawnstone
So that is a 1+ rerollable armour save and a 2+ one use dodge
Offensively it is 4 strength 5 armour piercing attacks
The second is
Scar Vet, cold one, light armour, great weapon, venom of the firefly frog, dragonhelm, dawnstone
So that is a 1+ armour save, 2+ ward to flaming and a one use 2+ ward to everything
And 4 strength 7 magical poisoned attacks
These are the two most common (cliched?) builds but if you put most things on a scar vet he should do okay, but I reckon these are the optimal builds
The burning blade of chotec is popular but I shy away from flaming attacks due to the prevailance of dragonhelm/dragon bane gem/ dragon armour in my meta
