AoS Beginner 1k list idea

Hi!
I'm new to AoS and I've already bought start collecting and a box of skinks.
I want to buy bastiladon in a future.
(skink priest and scar veteran are converted from start collecting)
My idea of army is:

-Saurus oldblood on carno (280)
-Saurus scar veteran on cold one (100, general)
-skink priest(80)
-10 skinks(60)
-5 Saurus knights(100)
-10 Saurus warriors(100)
-Bastiladon (280)

Total 1000/1000

What do you think about this list?
Is it competitive? What should I change?

That is a quite mixed list. I'd say it isn't bad for a few friendly matches to get to know the game, but I wouldn't call it competitive.

The Basti and the Carno are pretty strong in a 1k game, but the rest is not going to do much I fear.

I've got a few ideas how to fix it.
1)Buy a box of Saurus knights
And play 10 more(15 Total) instead of Saurus warriors and skinks(1040 Total but with friends it will be ok)
2)Buy another box of skinks and play 40 skinks instead of Saurus knights and warriors
3)Buy a box of Saurus warriors and play 30 instead of knights And skinks
Paersonaly i think about 1) and 3) most.
Is it a good idea to improve my army in this way?
 
If you like Saurus Knights you can of course play the Firelance Starhost (3 groups of Knights and a Scar Veteran)
Without the Starhost they are... not bad but not great either.

Saurus Warriors are great if you have 40, everything below that is mediocre IMO.

...but then 1000 points is not much so it is hard to get our synergies going with such a small army.

And I've go one (and probably last) question.
What about group of 40 skinks buffed with astrolith bearer?
3+ hit with Re roll of any failed rolls sounds great! Will it work or not?
 
It does.
When we could still play the Skink Chief giving them +1 to hit they were even better. *sigh* I am sad he is gone.
Anyway, even without him I have managed to kill a lot of stuff, including a Maw-Krusha, using Skinks. The Astrolith Bearer is a great asset.

So after changes my list looks like this:

-Saurus oldblood on carno (280)
-10 Saurus warriors / 5 Saurus knights (100)
-40 skinks(200)
-Saurus astrolith bearer(160)
-Bastiladon (280)

Total: 1020/1000

Not much close combat units but carno and warriors/knights will stop enemy from atacking my totem and skinks.
And of course i place bastiladon in the range of astrolith bearer's totem too ;)
