Hello! I just thought I'd throw out the question of whether anyone has or uses official AoS terrain pieces aside from faction terrain like the Realmshaper, Bone Tithe Nexus, Herd Stone, etc.

Examples would be things like the Magewrath Throne, Ophidian Archway, Eternity Stair, Dreadfire Portal, Realmgates, Numinous Oculum, etc.

Anyone use these? Are they worth buying? Do they add anything fun to your games? Or do they just sit there while you run for objectives? I'd love to hear about anyone's opinions and/or experiences with any of the official, non-faction terrain pieces.

They look neat, and have the fairly significant advantage that their style matches other AoS stuff, which is hard to mimic when you make your own terrain (unless you're quite good at it)

The unique rules aren't super interesting

I like them very much. They are painted to an ok standard fast and you can place your models easy on top of them. The penumbral engine has fun rules too. (Not for tournament play.)

O yeah good point. The fact that they're an appropriate size with enough room on platforms and large enough gaps to fit things, and with windows on an appropriate scale is nice as well.

I like having official GW Terrain. The unique rules are still part of the Core AoS rules, except for the bloodthrone and dragon dias I believe. Building your own terrain is also great. Just make sure you read the terrain rules in the GHB to build to the right size specifications.
