After the prequel trilogy and Mannikan Skywalker, I feel that fans are going to be VERY leery of this film.
I wouldn't bet on it, Nightbringer. Age Of Ultron and Terminator Genysis were supposed to be BO breakers and yet either failed to do so, or only sat on the podium for 2-3 weeks before getting knocked off. The same could happen here after the opening weekend, since the new Hunger Games comes out around that time of the year.
I'm sorry @NIGHTBRINGER , but star wars are huge for gen X'ers, but to the newer generations, it's more of a great film franchise; that sort of drowns in the marvel and dc run at the moment.
Oh I think it will do well ! Age of Ultron, well! ( and that's, by the way, pretty decent)
But I have this instinct, that original fans are granting Star wars too big of a place in the public mind set.
It's huge don't get me wrong. But so are dinosaurs, so are super heroes.
I simple fails to see where this particular franchise, so much exceeds the others that it is, as a lot of fans seems to think, going to smash every record to date.
Edit :
This seems like a rant on star wars as a franchise. It's not!
I too loves star wars, but every media I hear about are just blowing it way out of proportions. Let's wait and see, whether or not it actual takes the record, will not change the feel you'll have while watching it. Nor will it change any criticism this film might have.
Man I sound like a star wars hater reading this another time. Soooo not the way I wanted to come across![]()
I don't know, I have never seen any Star Wars movie
How come?
Inflation is the real reason that we get a new "record-breaker" every year. It'd be interesting to scale the Jurassic World 2015 numbers to those of Jurassic Park in 1993. And then take that and compare it to Return of the Jedi from 1983.
Take everything and scale it to 2015 to make it easier maybe.
I will be accepting apologies in December!![]()
High five Nithbringer, Star Wars is the best thing that happened to the human race!I'd be highly surprised if the Hunger Games could even slightly compete against Star Wars. The two franchises are not even on the same level. Mark my words, records will be broken. There is a lot of intrigue building up around this movie and a MASSIVE per-existing fan base. I can't see anything standing up to it! The force will be with you, always.
Of course I am a "bit" of a Star Wars fan, so I might be carrying a little bias.![]()
FINALLY A KINDRED SPIRIT WHO UNDERSTANDS!!!High five Nithbringer, Star Wars is the best thing that happened to the human race!
