Hey everyone...
I'm a new player to Warhammer, and I've come across something I find annoying. Maybe it's just me, but I find it kinda lame calculating what armour saves are going to be, what my 'to hit' will be (for shooting) etc, etc. Each character or unit is different, and I find, so far, that it slows the games I've played down.
For example, I have a unit of Skink Skirmishers who move, then shoot. So They have thier BS, but then you have to add (subtract) modifiers for everything: Firing 2 Shots, Range of weapon, type of weapon, how far they moved, alignment of various planets, day of the week, etc, etc. It just seems like too many modifiers for one unit (this is BEFORE terrain is factored in). And almost every unit or character has some sort of modifiers with it.
Another example is combat res. I have X ranks, you have a banner. I have Y special equipment, so in the end it's a draw.
Maybe it's becuase I'm use to 40K where the rules seem a little more cut and dry.... Is there a simple way to figure things out, or does it just come with experience? Is there a list of modifiers somewhere specifically for Lizardmen? If not should we make one?
