I only read PinkTaco's breakdown. But what they have done is overall disappointing. I would prefer to use the 8th book over this one.
How do they justify this change to the Slann without even buffing the Skink Priest? I mean, have they played Lizardmen? Do they understand what it is Lizardmen are supposed to do? Like, how the army plays as a whole. They completely missed the mark, the feel of the army, the fun. The army is missing one of it's biggest selling points. It's incomplete.
What's the reasoning behind removing the smaller steg? Was it supposed to be replaced by the bastiladon? Than at least give the bastiladon stubborn since he not only needs it to fill the roll and should have it as a tank dinosaur anyway. Stegs are arguably as important as the Slann. When you picked Lizardmen, It was probably because you either liked the Slann or the Steg. 8th had it right, LM should be able to fit a steg anywhere in their list, aside from core. It's versatility was one of it's strengths. It didn't need a buff. I would certainly trade that buff for it's versatility back. Until reading there "9th" version, I figured the natural progression was going to be to have the baby steg mountable by a hero.
This book doesn't feel like a 9th edition. More like a version 7.9. It's missing things. Like the designers ignored the past books, the fluff, and the players. It's like AoS again. The betrayal doesn't cut as deep, but it's there.
