7th Ed. 500 pts per month army list!

Hi, so am doing a 500 points per month army list with a local GW store (new year, new army - this store doing WFB) and am using lizardmen. So this is my first month's list.

Heroes
-Saurus Scar Vet
with light armour and Halberd - 94pts

-Skink Preist
with Talisman of Protection - 80pts

Core
-20 Saurus
with full Command - 250pts

-10 Skink Skirmishers
with Brave - 76pts

total: 500 points.

So any comments? also any tips for the next 500 points, whether any changes to current units of not.

Also, have a 10 strong unit of Temple Guard, and an 8 strong Cold One Cavalry unit as well left over from the batallion box. Will be playing a variety of armies, like Skaven, Beasts of Chaos, Vampire's, and Brittonians, so any tactical help aswell would be nice!

I would not give the priest the talisman. Perhaps the plaque of tepok? Or something else for 15 points. I would also try to get away from 20 strong saurus. Perhaps 2x12? I realize you have to make up for the 4 other models but if you made one the scar vet, you could do something creative for the other three like using your temple guard command saurus command. Also, you might as well give your scar vet a great weapon since you lose the shield's bonus either way (which you should still take IMO for shooting) and strength 7 is sweet.

Basically, right now you have 1 big anvil and 1 harrasser unit... 2 units. I would feel better if there were more.

For the next 1000 points I would get some terradons and maybe a salamander. Salamanders rock at 1000 points, especially against skaven with the automatic panic tests. More skinks at 1000 points too.

Hmm ok so after a bit of consideration, my army list now has 3 units in! which are as follows:

11 Saurus with Musician and Standard Bearer, also with my Scar Veteran.

10 Saurus with no command.

10 Skink Skirmishers with Brave, and Skink Priest.

Skink Priest with Plaque of Topek
Saurus Scar-Vet with Light Armour, Shield, and normal hand weapon (gives a better save, also ran out of points)

Total points is now 498.

any more comments? Also any tactical advice? am thinking marching the 2 saurus units up the sides, and then the skinks through the middle with the Priest. kinda all you can really do with 3 units anyway!

on the next 500 points get another skink priest aswell as the salamander and terridon that was said earlyer and maybe squeeze a unit of 5 cold ones if you have the points
