8th Ed. 3000 - Beast Wars Theme

Okay as far as 'theme' goes, I'm not sure if it is... I just wanted to try something NeW and since I like big fat creatures( I play Nids') I could use some input on this list. Any C&C is welcome and please let me know how would you deploy the army because one thing I found out about fielding monstrous fatties on the table is the 'traffic-jam' factor.

Nuff' mumblin' here's the list:~

Slann BSB-Banner Swiftness, Forbidden Rod, Lore o' Life, Mystery, Cogitation, Rumination

Skink Chief w/ Stegadon War-Spear+Ironcurse Icon on Ancient Stega'

Skink Chief w/ Potion of Foolhardiness+Sword of Antiheroes(cuz' ppl stick their generals & BSB right next to each other a LOT here at my LGS) on Ancient Stega'

30 Saurus Warriors w/ hand wpns+shields, Full command
30 Saurus Warriors w/ Spears+shields, Full command
24 Temple Guard, Banner Discipline, Champ' w/ Dragon Helm

Change anythin' ya'll want (except for the 4xStegadons'~I'm a shopaholic) Just want the list to work if at all possible. Cheerz peeps and thanks in advance~!

Looks good; the only thing I noticed is that the first chief's got 55 points of magic items if he takes the Ironcurse item, and 50's max for him.

I run into Abominations, Hydras, Nurgle daemons, etc. often enough that the flame banner is a must have item somewhere in my list. Even if a character has Dragonhelm or something, I can usually run the unit off by killing the rank & file.

Theme wise, if I was going for maximum creature carnage, I'd have to find a way to fit a Carnosaur into the list, even at the expense of temple guard or something. It isn't as hard as you'd think keeping a Slann alive flying solo with the right items (and keeping him screened from charges). Carnosaur + Slann casting Life spells at it = Victory!

One more thing- don't feel like you have to run salamanders just because everyone else says they're the best thing since the cold-blooded rule. But... they really are.

Also you can try out a saurus oldblood on a carnosaur they are quite amazing and devestating, I have alot of fun with mine
