Hi all,
Long-time player here, who's new to Lizardmen.
Having played around with the new book, and having games under ETC-like comp, I've been trying various different builds out, testing different unit-setups, as well AS characters and the synergies in between.
So far, it seems to me that Lizards are still at the top of their game if played as before: Denial and counterpunch.
Having tried out various hammer-units (8-10 Krox, Cold One Bus, TG w. Razor Standard, and various monster-setups), I keep reverting to my Scar Vets for getting the job done.
Also, the Beast-hype (Skink Priests) seems a bit overrated to me. Being able to spam 2-3 Blizzards per turn works better IMO.
I've been very fond of Focus of Mystery, but have left it out in this list, as this particular list works a lot better, if I have the right spells from the get go.
As mentioned, it's meant for a semi-heavy comp-system, where all Armies can be taken at either 2200, 2400 or 2600 points. The lower the points-value you choose, the less comp you need to adhere to.
Being in the 2600-bracket, I'm a bit hampered on certain things, but I still think it has potential:
Slann Mage-Priest: Battle Standard Bearer; Channelling Staff; Harmonic Convergence; Magic Level 4 (Lore of Heavens).
Saurus Oldblood: The Piranha Blade; Glittering Scales; Dragonbane Gem; Potion of Strength; Cold One; Great Weapon.
Saurus Scar-Veteran: Dragonhelm; Dawnstone; The Other Trickster's Shard; Cold One; Great Weapon; Light armour.
Saurus Scar-Veteran: Sacred Stegadon Helm of Itza; Luckstone; Cold One; Great Weapon; Light armour.
Skink Priest: Dispel Scroll; Magic Level 2 (Lore of Heavens).
Skink Chief: Gambler's Armour; Terradon; Spear; Shield.
Skink Chief: Enchanted Shield; Terradon; Spear; Light Armour.
24 Skink Cohort: musician.
