8th Ed. 2500 tourney list for local tourney

First post, this is very close to what I normally run but just thought I'd get some critique on the lizzie pros out there:

Slann -
loremaster (life) ruminition etheral becalming
cupped hands, bsb (war banner)

20x Temp Guard FC -

25x Saurus HW / Shield / FC -
25x Saurus HW / Shield / FC -
25x Saurus HW / Shield / FC -

Salamander w/ extra snack -
Salamander w/ extra snack -

35x Skinks w/ 3 krox's -

lvl 1 skink priest (dispel scroll) -

5x Cham skinks -
5x Cham skinks -

Total - 2500 flat

So the only difference between this and my normal 2500 list is addition of the 10 cham skinks, dropping lvl 2 to lvl 1 skink priest. Some upgrades on the revered guard from the temp guard and a razor standard on the temp guard as well which comes out to same points. With this I have the war machine hunter / harass unit and still get my fav heavens spell, iceshard since its the sig. Its a toss up between that and curse of the midnight wind for me on which is my fav.

Usually dont give ethereal to my slann but you never know when hes going to need it.

Would love to hear some critiques out there. My list has done very well against Orcs / Gobs, Daemons, Vamp Counts, Tomb Kings, Wood Elves, have suffered against Beastmen (miasma spam), Warriors of Chaos (chosen / warshrines) although.

First off, Welcome to the board!

Secondly the list. It looks pretty solid but you really dont need the ethereal on slann.

20 temple guard is a great bunker and with lore of life I doubt you'll lose that many from them, plus you will be able to heal them back. I would take Becalming cognition. Its way too good. If you were taking Light, then I could understand, but nobody will get to the slann with life and 20 TG

Other than that, Good luck and have fun!

Yeah I agree with the ethereal on the slann, being 50 points can either be very useful or a complete waste of points. I usually dont use it but man I've had my temp guard completely be destoryed by certain units in CC. Do most players bunker your slann / temp guard unit with saurus units around it so it cant be charaged because temp guard just dont hold up very well in cc when compared to regular saurus guys (no parry hurts and you dont get the shield save so its the same 4+ save as a saurus w/ shield)

Well the list went 1-2. Major victory against Daemons in first game, got major victoried against a better daemon army in 2nd game and got massacred against a beastman army I know very well and cannot win against (1-4 against him) in the 3rd and final game.

Had my slann get throne of vines irresistably, then roll a 1 for the miscast, then tryed to pass miscast over with cupped hands and rolled another one and reduced my slann to a lvl 1, taking away 3 spells Also had 50 bloodletters flank me and tear threw my ranks.

The group i play with is very good so I always learn things from my losses.
