8th Ed. 2500 Skink Heavy, Tournament List

Hey all,

I have a tournament coming up, no comp, no end times, and I have always favored the skink heavy lists. In fact, most of my lists have been all skink but I am mixing it up right now and I need your input. I still consider all of my lists, Southlands lists, hehe.

Slann (Heavens), BSB, Becalming Cogitation, Harmonic Convergence, Channeling Staff, Lichebone Pennant, join Temple Guard

Skink Priest (Heavens), Dispel Scroll, join Skink Skirmisher
Tetto'eko, joins small Skrox Unit

24 Skinks, 3 Kroxigors, Standard Bearer
18 Skinks, 2 Kroxigors, Standard Bearer

Your temple guard seem very light, if there is any way to bring them up to around 24 or so they will be much more resilient.

You have lots of monsters in the list, which is a good thing when up against a meta with so many warmachines.

I see no point in having Tetto'eko and a level 4 heavens slann in the same list. Though that could be just me. If I were you, I would run light on the slann due to the lower casting requirements for that lore. You are going to be heavily tasked for dice with so much magic in the list. It may be worth it to drop the engine of the gods, as you probably won't have the dice to use it.

Since you love skinks, you could also drop one of the steggadons and take salamanders of terradons/ripperdactyls.

I do see the point of having the level one skink priest in heavens however. Double iceshard or comet is really useful.

You are lacking some heavy hitters however, and if you wanted you would not regret picking up a scar-vet cowboy or two.

Just some opinions of mine, take them with the pound of salt they come with

At first glance, that Temple Guard unit seems much too small. Personally I would increase their numbers.

I might actually just drop the temple guard altogether, stick the slann in a skirmisher unit and play keep away while he makes use of the arcane vassal rule. You would get a fairly decent handful of points you could put towards maybe a second chamo unit or some sallamanders/razordons.

Hey,

nice list.

Maybe you can think about:

- Give the Slaan WD. With Tetto you have a good chance to make a lot of spells. (I don`t know if 2 Comets are better then 1 Comet and WD, but I would prefer the last)
- I would kick one Stegadon and upgrade the other also to an ancient Stegadon, it has - for me - more power which you will need against heavy armoured staff.
- For the points you save first get more Temple Guards, maybe with Razor Standard. So you have one fighting unit. If possible get also 1-2 salamender in. I like the idea to vanguard them with Tettos specail rule und shoot big blocks of elves or skaven or whatever to death.
