this is my first time running a slann, just got the model and very excited about it! however im very ignorant to how to run 1 with great success. im curious which lore is the best to run with him

Just pick a lore and go! Slann are good with all of them.

But to tailor a lore to this list, I'd say go with Life. You can buff the crap out of your TG unit while keeping all your Stegadons alive and kicking (or stomping) for the whole game. Rumination and Mystery would be my Disciplines of choice for this army/lore.

Looks like a decent list too. 3 anvils, 3 hammers, and a bit of chaff. Should do pretty well. Salamanders would be nice, but you'll probably be ok. You might catch some flak for going over 2500, so just be aware of that. Some people don't mind but most seem to. I know I'd call you on it.

yea only reason that i am running it is its a friendly game and we allow 5 points over, wouldnt have go over if it was a tourney or something cause thats just rude
