Planning on play testing this list in future tournaments, but would like a few eyes to take a look first. The idea isn't to bring the most broken list I can as comp plays a big part in your final score. This is my balance, but tough list.

Slann BSB (lore of light)
Focus of mystery, higher state, rumination, cube, obsidian amulet, divine plague, stand of disc

Skink priest on EOTG (lv 2)
Scroll of shielding, dragonbane gem, tricksters shard

Scar vet
Cold one, sword of might, glittering scales

30 saurus warriors full command (6x5)

23 saurus warriors full command (5x5 with scar vet)

Jungle swarm (redirecter)

You think Scroll of Shielding is worth using? I don't.
I worry he dies too easily in close combat, and/or to shooting. I'd rather see more personal protection if you want to risk the Engine.

Since glittering scales sacrifices armour save (and you skipped his shield), it seems a purely bad choice for a cold one. I'd rather see a ward save.

I see no reason to put Saurus 6 wide. The enemy usually gains more from extra width than you do.

I don't see the value in such large units. I'd say 3x7 is strictly better than 2x10, and 2x5 plus some core skinks seems better still.
 
David has covered most of it but the biggest deficiency I see is the absence of a hard hitting unit to deal with monsters, chariots, etc. that is T6+ & even T5 would be tough with this list. Replacing the smaller block of saurus with skrox would help and would also give a unit that could not be stomped - an essential items given all the new monsters & monstrous cav in the latest army books.
 
First thing that jumps out at me is you have nothing above strength 5. I think a monster or armor heavy list (warriors of chaos), would rip through you.

At the very least give him a shield to give him a 1+ save. I like to run my cowboys differently and there are a lot of builds o these forums to optimize your scar vet, but as long as you give him a shield he is okay.

I disagree. If my opponent is 5 wide with 20mm bases, I always go 6 wide to get maximum frontage since our front rank gets 2 attacks.

I agree, get some skink skirmishers in there.

Also give your salamanders extra handlers if you are taking units of 1 salamander, it sucks to each 3 skinks after a misfire and basically lose your salamander. 5 points is a cheap insurance plan

I always like taking either multiple stegs or none, and I have a strong preference towards ancient stegadons to get str 6. You list has a general lack of high strength attacks since it has no skrox, scar vets with great weapons, or ancient stegs. I think that your lack of strength 6+ is the issue you want to address otherwise a unit of skullcrushers or mournfang could run through your entire army.
 
Thank you for the feedback, I decided to go in a different direction entirely. My vet in the first list did have a shield, just forgot to add that in.

Here is the new list:

Oldblood on Carnosaur
Burning blade, Charmed shield, Talisman of protection, Other tricksters shard
(This guy is basically running around killing regen monsters and +1 AS models. I expect to see deamons so the shard will help negate wards, he is in a +1/4+ and will jump in with a saurus unit if the carnosaur goes down.)

lv 2 skink priest on Engine
Cube
(provide a ward until my skinks can take out warmachines, do some massive damage between impact hits and tunder stomp)

Scar vet BSB on Cold one
Dragonhelp, talisman of endurance, venom of the firefly frog
(solid protection and provides 4 str 7 magical attacks)


22 Saurus (6x4 with the vet)

30 Saurus (6x5)

8 chameleons with stalker
(had an extra 6 points, thus the stalker)

Overall I have 3 big mosters, lots of shooting, and a few units that can be used to redirect. My magic defense is a bit weak, but hopefully the +3 and cube will last long enough to even the playing field.

better or worse?
