8th Ed. 2400 Skinks - Test 1

Im slated to play a game next week and in liu of my recent success/fluke with my 2000 skink list Ive decided to run them again at 2400...

Here is what I am thinking....

Skink Chief, Sword of Anti-Heroes, Dragonhelm, Ironcurse Icon, Shield, LA
Skink Chief, BSB, Armor of Silved Steel, Dragonbane Gem, Shield
Skink Priest, lvl2, Plaque of Tepok
Skink Priest, lvl2, Scroll

28 skinks, Command 3x Krox
28 skinks, Command 3x Krox
10 Skirmishers
10 Skirmishers
10 Skirmishers
10 Skirmishers

Stegadon
3 Terradon Riders
3 Terradon Riders

2 Salamanders
2 Salamanders
1 Ancient Stegadon


What do you guys think?

For skinks that rock, you may want to take Tetteko. I've run 1 list with out a slann so far and it ended in a draw....against wood elves.......<shudder>

Lvl 2 skink on EoTG gives a +3 cast/dispel. When every other list out there is going to have a lvl 4 caster at 2400 pts, I don't think you want strictly 1s and 2s.

List looks fun otherwise. very mobile and the skrox make up for the saurus. lots of priests = lots of iceshard. not a bad deal. at least one Net in there to handle war machines.

May be a good call to get some terradons or camo skinks in there as well, if it still fits the theme.

I already run that list more or less. Only 2 salamanders, but 20 chameleons and a 5th unit of skirmishers. Got a draw off woc army with skullcrushers knights and chariots. Should have been a win but failed 2 ward saves. And win against dwarfs.

The problem Im having is if I take the Slann out and keep the EotG I dont have room for a second priest and a skink BSB in my Heroes points allowment... BUT I did enjoy the play style of only skinks....

I play a slann and a skink priest on the etog only. Just best ogres last night.

New list looks good to me though. Give it a try. The play style is a bit different though. Try using the skinks to redict as much as you can. So your skrox units can get flanks and rears.

Looks better. I think it'd be fun. A list like this wins with good movement phases, so just be active. There are MSU tactics i think in the forum here that may be a good read.
