8th Ed. 2000pt beginners list.

Hello.

I've not played FB in about 8 years, mad never played lizardmen (don't shoot me!!) I've done abit of snooping here and reddit but can someone comment on my list before I invest heavily on units that I shouldn't?

I like Gor-rok so would like to ensure he stays in the list. Other than that I was planning to put the slann into the TG and Gor into the saurus.

Thoughts would be appreciated.

Alright, Gor-rok!!!

He's awesome to use. He brings some extra punch into a Saurus unit. Personally I find it hard to squeeze 3 Saurus/TG units in 2000pts. The Slann's unit and Gor-rok's unit are good because of the character inside. You could split the other Saurus cost into building up more of the TG and Saurus.

With High magic I might take Soul of Stone for the safety of your TG unit. He has already taken Channelling Staff, so you can give the Dispel Scroll to the Skink Priest

For your Skink Priest Lore, Heavens is nice as Iceshard Blizzard hexes your enemy and is low cost so your Slann can keep on casting (and then reduce risk of terrible Miscast result with Soul of Stone ) Your units are pretty Strong and Tough anyway, unless you want Lore of Beasts for extra buff warriors.


All up, I would have added Soul of Stone to the Slann and changed the 3 Saurus/TG into 2 larger ones.

I agree with jam jar, beefing up the units could help a lot. Especially the saurus; they really aren't as good as they should be. I'm also not a fan of the lichebone penant. TG and the BSB are the only units that can have magic banners so I like standard of discipline for LD 10 on the slann. If you want the unit to have magic resistance 1 an obsidian trinkeet does the same thing in the talisman slot. Also give him the icon and your TG will have a 6+ vs war machines and magic and all you have to find is 20 points. Not hard to do if you combine the saurus. Also if you don't have enough TG just put some saurus in the back rank; most people won't mind and they are the first to get removed anyway. Best of luck.
