7th Ed. 2000 pts lizardmen army

hi, im pretty new here. So first of all, hi evryone

I made an amrylist based on the folowing:
1. i go to tournaments and so I often play against daemons and VC
2. many units will massacre lizardunits in a straight up fight
3. i like skinks

skink chief- ancient stegadon, light armour, shield, stegadon war spear @384
skink priest- lvl 2, 2 scrolls @150
Skink priest- lvl 2, cube of darkness @140

3 kroxigor @165

i really would like to include another unit of kroxigor. So Im inclined to drop 1 salamnder and 1 razordon plus the chameleon unit for 3 more kroxogor. This gives me 46 pts to play with, what should i do with these? And do you have some tips and critisism?

Hmmm... like you I am quite fond of the little buggers so I would tend to like an army like this. However, you might find some problems whilst playing.

I assume that the 5 units of skinks you got there are skirmishers right? I used to play a southlands list back in the good old 6th edition days when skirmishers could always march. I only ever lost 1 game. However, as the rules are today it would be very difficult to pull it off since you no longer have that movement advantage.

As regards the kroxs, you could try and squeeze another unit in but as I see it, since most of the other units are cheap skirmishing stuff your kroxs will suffer the brunt of enemy missile fire. Also, I can't see the steg surviving long especially if your opponent has a couple of warmachines. In this sort of army I think I would try and go all out skirmishers.

Cube of darkness... hate it! rather give him the diadem.

Before entering this forum, I was all out in favour of razordons but after reading various threads it seems that salamanders can be much more effective.

Don't really know what else to tell you since from personal experience an army like this does not look like a threat on paper but could be very effective if you adopt a good strategy. Guess you should try it out and let us know what went well and what didn't so maybe we can see how to make it better.

Just as an idea, this is my old army list (6th editions):

5 lv2 skink priests (southlands list allowed you to take 2 heroes for 1 lord. doesn't apply today)

8 units of 10 skirmishers
3 units of 3 terradons
unit of 10 chameleons
2 units of 3 salamanders

All skink all skirmish

yes i forgot to mention, the skinks are all skink skirmishers.
The stegadon will hide a few turns, and will strike on the last 3 turns. It only has to charge 1 expensive unit/monster to make it worthwhile in my opinion.

Arent krox screened from shooting by skinks?

The stegadon could work but personally I am not sure about it. Don't forget that it's a large target so might be even more difficult to hide.

As regards the krox, yesyou can hide them behind skinks unless opponent is on a hill, and there usually is a hill (at least in all games we play). 3 krox need only 2 turns of shooting by a unit of 10 archers to be reduced to a negligible number. Also, krox are meant to be supporting units and it is very difficult to charge head on and win since they have no static CR. Another problem is that if a unit of skinks flees through the krox they would have to test for panic.
