7th Ed. 2000 Points list (Plz give me some advice)

I didn;t actually think too clever i believe about this one. But off course i'd love comments and help
The List i came up with eventually is:
- Slann mage priestWith Staff of the Lost Sun, Divine plaque of protection, Curse charm of tepok and plaque of tepok wich is 375 all together
- 8 temple guard with full command (163 Points)
- 24 Saurus Warriors with FC and Spears (318)
- 24 Skink SKirmishers , 12 with javelins and 2 braves (216)
- 1 Kroxigor (55)
- 8 Cold one Cavalry with FC (330)
- lvl 2 skink priest on the Engine, wuth the Cupped hands of the old ones (435)
- a skink chief with hand weapon, light armor, shield and the piranha blade (98)

Thats about it. I;d appreciate reccomendations and hints (tell me anything...i can always buy sumtin)
But off course it is also great to reply if you like my list ^^
 
Alrighty then:
-Slann: First off, what discipline(s) are you taking? He gets one for free, and should take at least 1 more. Also, you can't have 2 Enchanted Items or 2 Arcane Items on 1 character.
-Temple Guard: Have at least 15 of them; probably more.
-Skinks: You can only have a maximum of 20 Skink Skirmishers in a unit; also, you can not have 2 Braves in 1 unit. Lastly, if you equip some of them with javelins, they all must have javelins.
-Personally, I'd put the Cupped Hands on your Slann.

Lastly, is this for 8th Edition or 7th?

The Slann mage still needs his disciplines:
Focus of Mystery-knows all spells in a given lore
focus of rumination-free power die to each spell cast
higher state of consciousness-only harmed by magical attacks

Those are the popular ones in the 7th edition ruleset. In the 8th edition, look for soul of stone to be fairly popular-reroll on miscast table.

Equipment wise, the staff of the lost sun is a waste on a slann (balistic skill of 3), instead give it to a skink chief (balistic skill 5). Curse charm of tepok is good. Take the Focus of mystery, drop the plaque of tepok and take the cupped hands of the old one. Your slann is more likely to miscast than the skink priest.

- 8 temple guard with full command (163 Points)
You have to have at least 10 temple guard. If you are using 7th edition, these are good to hide the slann inside the unit. In 8th, the temple guard will die from miscasts (unless you use lore of life and resurrect them.
- 24 Saurus Warriors with FC and Spears (318)
Drop the champions in your units, they are rarely worth the cost.
- 24 Skink SKirmishers , 12 with javelins and 2 braves (216)
Same as above, drop the champions.
- 1 Kroxigor (55)
You have to take at least 3 Krox in a unit or place one krox in a unit of 10 skink cohorts. If you do that, the skink to krox ratio is 8/1. You need 8 skinks for 1 krox (i.e. 24 skink cohorts can have 3 krox in the unit). Another thing to remember is that this unit cannot turn, only wheel on a charge.
- 8 Cold one Cavalry with FC (330)
This is the only unit that I would be tempted to keep the champion on. In the 8th edition you will need to use these carefully
- lvl 2 skink priest on the Engine, wuth the Cupped hands of the old ones (435)
Drop the cupped hands and take the amulet of itzl (this amulet gives you a 2+ save on the first wound. Effectively giving your priest 3 wounds.
- a skink chief with hand weapon, light armor, shield and the piranha blade (98)
Give the chief the staff of lost sun and a terradon mount. This guy can fly around and shoot with the staff with a range of 18 inches (usually hitting on a 4+ after moving, great range, and 3x shots)

Just my thoughts.
 
Its still for 7th but ill go 8th edition from the day of 10 july
