Hello all, its been a while.

I'm playing the WoC guy, whom you may remember from my last post. For those who don't remember, his army is almost all Khornate with lots of warriors, some with great weapons, knights and a Lord on dragon (not Khorne, fluffily) and a hero. Also, a block of Marauders.

The game plan is to deploy the TG in the centre flanked by Saurus and Skinks. COC will go on the flank that needs it most. Priest will do what he can from behind the lines. As for Lore's I'm thinking Lore of Life for the Throne of Vines and other cool buffs. Otherwise its back to basics with Lore of Metal, or maybe Lore of Death as the TG wil be getting up close to his kiling stuff. Constructive criticism please! ^^

My list is as follows:

Slaan Mage Priest
Battle Standard Bearer, the Focused Rumination, Plaque of Tepok, Cupped Hands of the Old Ones

Saurus Scar-Veteran
Burning Blade, Shield, Light Armour, Cold One, Potion of Speed

Skink Priest
Level 2, Bane Head

Saurus Warriors x30
Full Command

Skinks x24
Full Command, Kroxigor x4

Temple Guard x16
Full Command, Gleaming Pendant

Cold One Cavalry x9
Full Command

One more cold one cavalry and you can disrupt his bigger units of infantry. Also I bet salamanders would work well against that opponent, with their -3 save modifier.

You can only have 3 Krox for 24 skinks so you can use the points saved for an extra CoC to get that disruption.

The CoC are joined by the Scar Vet so its 10 strong anyway. My mistake about the kroxigors, so I'll knock off some skinks and the kroxigor. Might have abough for a Sallie, but I'm not sure how effective they'll be. low strength and unpredictable weapon range makes me warry of using them.

The salamanders will easily be one of our best units in 8th and a number 1 target for opponents with big blocks of infantry. No partials and march and shoot is just crazy good. And they were excellent in 7th without these traits. and with skirmishing it is easy to reform to line up a shot that will go across their battle line and hit a unit no matter your roll for distance.

With the COC if just one dies then you lose the ability to cause disruption.
Also the Slann can't have both the Cupped Hands & Plaque of Tepok as both are Arcane items
+10 for Salamanders

I'd be dubious about giving the Skink Priest the Bane Head. Even if one of your 2 spells from Heavens is a damage spell, they're not really too good at wounding characters (and if the character is in a unit, forget it). Maybe a solo Wizard perhaps, but still. Maybe better to give the priest the Plaque and get a 3rd spell. Or cloak of feathers can be useful (don't forget that the Slann can cast a Magic Missle through a Skink Priest, so making the priest mobile adds to the Slann's range)

Does lore of metal still have the sniper spell in it? (no targeting restrictions). Bane Head to a Slann with lore of Metal was a killer in 7th for heavily armoured characters. I've not checked the Lore of Metal in 8th ed...
