8th Ed. 2000 point list

I'm just getting back into warhammer and this is a list I've put together based on the models I have.

Slann (lore of light)
Focus of mystery, focused rumination, higher state
dispel scroll, plaque of protection

Scar-vet light armour, shield
burning blade, amulet of itzl

Scar-vet light armour, shield
dragonhelm, sword of might

20 saurus, full command

20 saurus, full command, spears

10 skinks

10 skinks

10 skink skirmishers

6 kroxigor

6 cold one cavalry, banner, razor standard

Total points: 1993


Like I said this is based on the models I have. What changes should I make? I know units of krox/ cav dont seem to be popular but I really want to keep them in there. But I might make the krox unit smaller and bring in some mixed skink/ krox units

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

if it must be based on those units? I don't see a bsb in there. I'd make one. even with 3d6, the bsb is nice insurance.

champions are usually a waste of points for an extra attack. you are better off putting 1 more model in the unit.

I'd beef up the size of your saurus to maybe 24 or 28 each, more for the spears since they lose their AS bonus and ward from the shield.

and buy some salamanders.

And a skink priest w/ a dispel scroll.

Thanks for the reminder about bsb! I am going to add to this and make changes, will definitely add a skink priest.

Still limited by my models. What do people think about spear-wielding saurus??

Also I'm planning on using a lone slann behind my units so is the one I have in my list ok for that or should I change his equipment?
If anyone sees any other glaringly obvious changes I should make please point them out

Priest is illegal for two arcane items. Not entirely sure why you have him at all though. Since you didn't take Cupped Hands, the Slann could take the scroll. And the priest should attempt to cast almost nothing with a Light Slann's spell selection.

I think 20 Saurus is generally too small, but especially for spears. Your extra spear attacks will often be dead before they attack.

Ah missed that on the priest, gonna change that asap
I'm planning on bulking up the saurus units at the expense of some of the krox (or CoC haven't quite decided yet)

I'd drop the cold ones. the 200+ points languishing in that unit can buy a lot of saurus or more skinks/krox, or just about anything with a better point economy. unless taken as a mount, Cold ones just are a rough investment until 8th ed when they (hopefully) get a rework.
