First attempt at making a list. Was just wondering how many points these two battalions would be. I just need to obtain a razordon/salamander to play it.

General:

Slann Starmaster - 260

Battleline:
10 Saurus Warriors - 100
10 Saurus Warriors - 100
20 Saurus Warriors - 200

Thunderquake Starhost:
Creator's Will - 8" from EotG either reroll charge and hit or reroll wound and save.
Celestial Surge - Everyone heals a wound each round, D3 wound within 10" of Slann.

Engine of the Gods - 240
Stegadon - 260
Bastiladon - 300
3 Skink Handlers - 40
2 Razordon - 120

Battalions:
Thunderquake Starhost - 120

Total: 2000

Edit:
Changed shadowstrike host to eternal host.
Edit: Removed eternal host for warriors.

This looks fine, but 3 units of 10 Skins will be quite weak...
Remember that you need 3+ Battleline Units on 2000pts army.
On the other hand- you don't really need strong troop units in the army like this.

With very little troops I'd fear for my battalion buffs, depending on your opponent it won't be very hard for them to take out a unit from both battalions and you then lose your buffs, could you bulk up one battalion? I know you will only run one battalion but it would be much harder for your opponent to neutralize that battalion.

Ohh crap, you're right, I completely overlooked that.

Didn't realize you lose the buff if you no longer have the battalion. Does this mean you can have more than what the battalion requires as buffer if some of it dies? Or do you have to declare a unit as part of the battalion and another unit as not part of the battalion?

It looks like I'll have to drop the shadowstrike as I really love the idea of everyone in the thunderquake healing every turn.

That is a pretty amazing ability!

yeah, you have some problems here:

you will need at least 3 battleline units (already pointed)

A single razordon is not worth the price... 2d6 to hit is a joke, use no less than 3 of them, and enjoy 6d6. Skinks handlers are a trap in this case, don't pick them! all they do is to let razordon re-roll 1s "to hit"... you already have a Slann: pick the Great Drake and you'll have the same effect.

Avoid the shadowstrike starhost: not only you need points for the battleline units, but it costs 120, and: it gives the bonus of re-roll (that you already have tnx to the Drake), and it gives Strike from Skies to Rippers (but sadly they took the BIg Nerf bat, they are not what they used to be). Just pick the chama skinks as assassins.

Updated original post to change from shadowstrike to eternal starhost. This covers the battleline requirements.

I need the skink handlers for the thunderquake host.

I'm still not sure about this second Starhost.
It won't be very useful, because of your Monsters.
You could set up 40 (10/10/20) Saurus Warriors and a Skink Starpriest instead of Eternity Starhost. In my opinion it would be a much stronger combination

I would go with that

Hahaha, I'm probably overly attached to the starhosts. I agree the warriors would probably be better and allow some pressure upfield whereas the guards would just be more defensive again.

Hrmmm interesting thought, let me think about that a bit more. Would have to minus a razordon to make the sunblood fit at 120. The unit of 20 warriors loses the +1 to hit. But twice as many jaw attacks, but also need to make room for the battalion's points.

Just out of curiosity...

With 40 warriors (30 spears, 10 weapons) (400 points)
20*(4/6)*(3/6) + 10*(3/6)*(3/6) + 10*(3/6)*(4/6) = 12.5 wounds from 30 spears and 10 weapons
40*(2/6)*(3/6) = 6.66 wounds from jaws

19.16 total wounds

With Sunclaw and 30 warriors (30 spears) (500 points)
30*(3/6)*(3/6) = 7.5 wounds from spears
60*(2/6)*(3/6) = 10 wounds from jaws

17.5 wounds total from warriors

5*(4/6)*(4/6) = 2.22 wounds from sunblood's weapon, 1 or 2 6's add 1.5 wounds or so from ferocious rage
2*(3/6)*(4/6) = 0.66 wounds

Say 4 or 5 total from sunblood.

~ 23 wounds total from host

Seems like you get what you pay for more or less.
