It's my first try bunkering the Slann in the TG... do they need the 3rd rank or no? I really like the beefier Saurus units and the little cohort...

I'd vote number one. Without the skinks all you have is a solid core wall marching forward and your going to get flanked bad or one unit ganged up on

quite a lot of salamanders i like number one
list two would have had a lot of pointless models

I like both lists. The only change that I would make to either is that I would give them full command. I would make sure that I take the extra snack on the salamanders and would see if I could work in focus of mystery and becalming cogitation. Focus of mystery would be the more important discipline. Becalming is a real pain in the a$$ to the other army. I would take the banner of discipline as well. Then the Slann with the TG would be Ld10 rerollable stubborn.
