Hey All, I am just starting into WFB and was hoping I could get some feedback on my first army list.

Lord:
Lore of Life Slaan
Disciplines: Becalming, SoS, Reservoir
Magic Items: Earthing Rod, Obsidian +2 MR, BSB Discipline, Shrieking Blade, Ironcurse
Against dwarves or low magic armies drop MR +2, Becalming, and Blade for Unfathomable Presence, Harmonic, and a skink skirmisher
Total: 480

Heroes:
Gor Rok (Right now just an albino saurus, but I just bought the Carnosaur and plan on green stuffing Old Blood parts into a Gor Rok substitute)
lvl 2 Skink priest with scroll of dispel and lore of beasts
Total: 310

Special:
Bastiladon
2 Jungle Swarm
20 TG with FC and Init 10 sword on revered guard and Razor Standard (Slann will go in here)
3 terradon riders with fire bolas and sky leader
Total: 708

Core:
30 FC Saurus (Gor Rok will go here)
10 jav skirmishers
10 jav skirmishers
Total: 500

This army includes all of the models I currently have (the carnosaur is waiting on greenstuff and magnets)
I plan to buy a stegadon and magnet it up, along with some more skinks to be able to hit 2250 and 2500 for the tournament in 2 months.

I avoid chameleon skinks and salamanders partly because finecast, but mostly because they are ugly as sin. Any advice?

Welcome to the site! Looks like an ok list. If it's all that you have it can certainly work.

2 stubborn blocks is a pretty good center. Unfortunately you don't have any real heavy hitters for your flanks, but the buffs from Life and Beasts should help with that.

During set up, I would try to place your Basty on whatever flank your opponent puts their flankers on. He'll be your only real defense against getting your flank opened up.

There are some pretty good Salamander conversions that people have done using kroot hounds and stuff like that. Look around the painting and modeling section and you'll find on the site. Regular skinks can be modeled into chameleons fairly easily as well. Just dig around the site using the search feature!
