8th Ed. 1500 point list vs daemons, need help

Hi all, please see my proposed list against a 1500 point daemon tournamt list, this guy is in practice for AGOM over here so he has warned me his list will be nasty. I have gone for the following

Slann (lone) - BSB, focused rumination, cupped hands of the old ones using Lore of Light

Scar Vet - GW, Light armour
14 Saurus - spears, std

Skink priest - lvl2, dispel scroll
24 Skink cohorts

25 skink cohorts

10 skink cohorts

6 chamelean skinks

Stegadon

Salamander

Salamander

any advice would be great

I think you look pretty good going in. I would equip the Scar vet with the golden sigil sword (Initiative 10) or the always strikes first sword. Against demons, you will be good for initiative until you run into a character. I looked over the list for demons and noted that their characters I ranges from 6-10. So, ASF or an Initiative item are a must to get those characters down.

just realised my 2nd salamander not going to be finsihed in time for game so i will have to field only 1. any suggestions on what to get with the spare 75 points, would you take magic items for characters or maybe put a priest or chief on the steg?

i plan to march the 2 blocks of saurus up the middle and have them flanked by my large skink units, i will use the skirmishers to try and get round the back of him

Okay, you dropped the slann, but I've used the lore of light slann against daemons, and he was great, but well in such a low poitn battle he can be a point sink, and if he has standard of sundering your dead.
I think I would drop the steg and take more saurus, this isn't enough saurus, if he uses a nasty list, such a low amount of saurus will get murdered, you can add 10 saurus to both units for the points you get when dropping the steg.
I hope for you he's not going nurgle only with epidimius, that's mean, all those special characters(mostly the heroes IMO) are way too cheap, the masque is only 90 points and awesome, epidimius is only 135 and he sits on a palanquin wich costs 50 normally, so he and his insane special rule are only 85 points, that's mean. Good luck, daemons are still a hard army to face, but not as bad as they used to be.
