8th Ed. 1500 point force

Right I know I have already posted something simler in the introduction thread but I thought I would post it here,
right so here is my army list of 1500 points I am having a mainly skink southlands force with a few temple guard.

LORDS

Slann Mage-Priest + 300 points
High Magic
Focus Of Mystery + 35 pts

HEROES

Tiktaq`To +170 points

Skink Priest + 65 points
lore of beasts

Skink Priest + 65 points
lore of heavens


CORE

Skink Cohort + 120 points
24 skinks
+10 brave
+10 banner
+150 3 Kroxigor


SPECIAL
Temple Guard + 140 points
10 guard
+10 revered guardian

Terradon Riders + 175 points
5 riders

Bastiladon +150 points
beam of chotec

RARE
Salamander hunting pack + 80 points
1 salamander

I will be mainly fighting VC please give me tips and advice and tell me what I got wrong!

Not a bad list, just watch out you don't get boxed in and surrounded by summoned units.
Also you may have gone overboard with magic units, those magic dice are going to be spread pretty thin.

Ok i`ll try to avoid that, and I put two skink priest in so i could use them as acane vassels

It's not a bad plan, but you'll need lucky winds of magic roll to win.
I'd might consider trading the Blastidon for 2 more salamanders...and maybe some more gear for hero's ?
Perhaps some wings for one of the skinks, and like a dispel scroll on the other one ?

I agree, that's a lot of points devoted to magic for a 1500pts game. I'd also remove Tiktaq'to, he is a tremendously over costed character.

really the only reason i choose tiktaqto is because i like the model and character but i could remove him and add another terradon rider and some magic items maybe?

I think that would make your army list more powerful. There are several great terradon chief builds that could work. A 2+ armor save is pretty easy to achieve.

i`m pleased with this list it fits my southlands idea better(and there`s 72 skinks in there).

I would suggest that you break this unit up into two smaller units. Skink skirmishers typically work best when fielded in small units of 10-12.

Interesting list! If you like special characters, you could always work in Tetto'eko. Point for point he is our best special character.
