So the whole point of this list is something fun and diverse to play with (without getting constantly walked over), something to harass armies with, whilst crushing where needed as well.

As I mentioned in the other thread, this will be a big list for sculpts (from scratch) and conversions.

HEROES
Tetto'Eko
Lv 1 skink priest

scar vet (tempted to switch for Gor-rok)
armour of destiny, GW and LA (tempted with Stegadon armour too)

CORE
Saurus warriors 25 (musician and standard)
16 x skink skirmishers
16 x skink skirmishers

SPECIAL
Steg
3 x ripperdactyls could always switch these for terrodons.

RARE
3 x salamanders OR 3 x razordons (undecided which)

Still left with about 20pts or so, so might chuck in a scroll on the lvl 1 priest.

well, I'm no expert, but your army list looks alright. It's fairly standard and contains most of what makes our army good:

- Tetto is awesome.
- Scar vet (on cold on?) is also awesome.
- You have your skirmishers.
- You have a decent sized block of saurus as a main combat unit to hold up other units and wait for support.
- The support is the steg.
-Ripperdactyls which I assume are for warmachines?
- Salamanders to roast big blocks of infantry.

Unless I'm mistakening I'd use something else for warmachines.
I'm also not sure where you're putting Tetto? In one of the skirmisher units? If that's the case I'd consider removing one of the salamanders (2 should be fine anyway?) and get a cohort unit for the caster.

I realize you haven't put the scar vet on a cold one, so that's somehting to consider, although there's always the risk of losing him to a canon like that, so you'll have to be careful. If he can survive he's a great addition.

So IMO you have all the ingredients for a good army.

looks like your scarvet has light armor and magic armor?
probaly just a typo,..

Not 100% but I'm pretty sure tettko is LD 7 so your SV is going to have to be your general meaning no BSB in this list. Not a huge deal just something to remember.

Thanks for the hep everyone. :)

Rippers I wanted to use for Warmachine and glass canon use (especially against high AS units, or larger expensive units).

Is it worth me sticking in a second 1500 point list in here?
I actually want to try out two separate lists, the second featuring more SCOR.

Sounds like a good Idea to me.

Awesome!

New list

HEROES
2 x lv2 priests (thinking either lore of beasts on both or a mix). 200
scar vet on cold one, steg helm, spear, shield. 148

CORE
Saurus warriors 20 (musician and standard), spears 240
skirmishers x 18 126
skirmishers x 18 126

SPECIAL
bastioldon
SCOR with spears, standard x 6
3 x terradons

RARE
razordon x 3 195

So a few questions here, first off, I'm about 4 points over, do I drop the number of skinks, or split them up (say, something like 3 units of 12).

Also, if I drop some bits and pieces, do I do anything like trade my scar vets shield for the enchanted one (and can I even do this as the Stegadon shield does count as magic armour, but isn't carried on the wrist like a shield).

Thanks!

Help and conversions on the way....

1 love the razordons!

2. Sadly in Warhammer people have not realized that you can wear both a magic helmet and a magic shield, since they're both magic.

- rules wise you cannot wear 2 pieces of the same:

Magic armor:
Magic weapons:
Enchanted items:
Talisman:
Arcane Items:

I believe that covers the nagic items.

Wearing multiple necklaces or armor (even heavy armor, a shield and a helmet) is way complicated - unless non-magical.

You are allowed :

1 shield.
1 Armor.

- Any piece can be magical, OR you can go for a magical helmet.

Awesome, thanks for helping to clear that one up. :)

I think you should at least split your skinks into 3 units of 12. The advantages of running 3x12 Skinks rather than 2x18 are:

- Smaller footprint for easier maneuverability
- An extra chaff drop during deployment
- you can shoot at up to three targets
- you lose less points for each unit that gets destroyed

Awesome, thanks for the help,

I have already started a plan list in my sculpting and converting thread with the bastilodon, expect to see more pieces in there soon.
