8th Ed. 1000 Stegadons and Skirmishers

Hello. I'm new to Lizardmen, but I've been interested in doing a Skink list for ages supported by 2 or more stegadons. That said, it is limited to 1000 points, and the army book I've ordered is in the post, so I can't really get started, so I was looking for a general outline of what a list like this would look like. Is it tactically viable? What should I take as a leader? How many skinks? How many Stegadons? So many questions haha

In terms of tactics, I was thinking skink skirmishers that bait a unit into charging, flee, then multiple units all descend on that single unit to force a panic check. Of course, thats all theory.

I'd be really grateful for any help guys. Thanks in advance

That's a pretty viable list idea. The problem is that Stegadons will take up half of your army points, so you wont really have much leftover for anything fancy. But at 1,000 pts it's pretty hard to deal with 2 Stegadons. Just don't rely on the Skinks to hold up to anything substantial.

You should poke around the tactics section and see if you find any articles about that subject. I know there are plenty.
