AoS 1000 Pts new to AoS

Hello everyone!

The first list I build from all the models in my collection was this "masterpiece":

Oldblood on Carnosaur

In my first game I failed incredebly (here is the link to a short battlereport) and I will try to improve myself. In terms of "know your army" and "know the rules" I think I just need some more expieriece.
But when it comes to Listbuilding I hope you guys can help me a bit optimizing my list.

Modelwise I have:

1x Slann
1x EotG
2x Scar Vet on Cold one
1x Saurus Sunblood
1x Skink Chief
1x Skink Priest
2x Skink Starpriest
30x Saurus Warrior with Spears
20x Saurus Warrior (still on sprue)
20x Saurus Guard
40x Skinks with blowpipe
40x Skinks with javelin
30x Skinks (still on sprue)
10x Cameleon Skinks
1x Stegadon with Sunfire Throwers
1x Bastiladon with Ark of Sotek
3x Kroxigor
3x Ripperdaktyl Riders
4x Salamander

I build the list around the Carnosaur model, because I really like the model, but I´m not sure if this army can work....when you see how the first battle turned out....I´ll guess not so well

Do you have any suggestions?

Oldblood on a carnosaur doesn't work so well in 1000pts in my experience, the scar vet can be good, especially if put in a firelance starhost, unfortunately you don't have knights to make that work.

What you do have is enough models for a shadowstrike starhost. You could just do two units of twenty skinks, rippers and a starpriest, say your carnosaur rider is a scar vet, add a salamander and you've got 1000pts. Phoenix stone to your starpriest and quicksilver potion to your scar vet.

If you're playing against chaos again, then might be worth looking at some of our units that get perks against daemons like the bastiladon with searing beam.

Thank you for these lists.

I´ll give the Shadowstrike Starhost with Salamander and Scar Vet on Carnosaur a try. On Saturday I´ll meet another member of our gamuing group and his Flesheater Courts.

I assume, he´ll bring a Terrorgheist and a lots of Ghouls. When I have some spare time after the match, I´ll try to write a small report about it.
