I'm glad to welcome you all to our Fifteenth

FEATHERED SERPENT PAINTING COMPETITION

In The Feathered Serpent, we pick a different theme each time, and the goal is to represent the theme or find ways to turn it to the ways of the Old Ones.

The theme of this round, as chosen by @ASSASSIN_NR_1, the winner of the last challenge, is:

"MOUNT UP".

It's time to bring your mounted models into glory battle! Let you imagination run free as your mount(s) and don't be fixed with only glorious cavalry charges... (well, nothing wrong with that), we're talking about mount and anything can suffice. Thanquol on top of Boneripper qualifies, and sky's the limit (especially if the mount is a dragon or a giant eagle) ;)

---------------------------------------------

The Prize: The winner earns the glory and a place in the Hall of Fame thread. The winner also gets to select the theme of the next painting challenge.

The Rules:
  • All models entered should not have been painted more than a year ago from now.
  • All miniatures presented must have been painted by the entrant.
  • Max one entry per person.
  • Max 3 images per entry (including pictures in collages), of reasonable size.
  • No voting for your own entry.
  • Open entries and open voting. Everyone can see who painted what.
  • Models can be of any manufacturer and conversion but must fulfill the criteria of the given theme
  • A diorama is a valid entry, as long as it fits the theme.
  • if you want to re-enter a model that was already listed in a previous competition, pm me before doing it.

The Schedule:

Week 1: now - Theme announcement and entry thread created
Week 10, Saturday, august 29th: Entry thread closed. Voting thread opened.
Week 12, Saturday, september 12th: Voting thread closed. Result announced. Winner asked about next theme.

This thread is now open for people to post their entries. Please state a name of the entry along with the pictures. The thread closes on the 29th of august 2026 at (roughly) 23:59 but it could be extended a little if there's the need for it. You can also comment and discuss in this thread, it is not restricted exclusively for entries

I might have some pictures on my phone from under a year ago to enter as well. (Newly painted isn't going to happen due to renovations at my house)

Grrr, Imrahil

I definitely have models ready to paint that fit the theme. We will see if I have time to complete one in time whilst moving house.

She's supposed to be a horse-riding witch, but the horse summons her from a tree. Is that okay?

Sala Ah-Din, the salute 53 event miniature that I concepted and the the sculpting team at WarGames Atlantic did an excellent job on.

Here painted in a green scheme reminiscent of the green-based color scheme the manelukes faction had in medieval 2 total war (if memory serves.)PXL_20260426_222823167.jpgPXL_20260426_222732705.jpgPXL_20260426_222640622.jpg

She looks great! The green is so vibrant and really evokes fresh growth.

A really cool looking model, and the colour scheme is excellent too! Congratulations on having your concept brought to life.

Thank you so much! It was also my first time trying to sculpt. I made the horse myself, except for the tree trunk it starts from.

Not even a week in and there are already 3 entries! Hopefuly there will be plenty more :)
(I found great model, it is already prepared in chitubox ready for print)
