GW News: LAS VEGAS OPEN 2025

It remains to be seen how well these go over.

Apologies in advance if the following comes off as a bit of a rant.

My biggest areas of concern with the upcoming edition are the roster changes, as apart from big guys and certain specialists they seem to imply that you're otherwise capped to what's in a single team box. If that is the case, then some teams are going to be fucked for choice. If it is not, then GW needs to unfuck their communications issues and actually say so.

Of particular note relevant to the forum, Lizardmen. That box set contains the max number of 0-6 saurus blockers and 0-2 chameleon skinks you could take in a Lizardmen team, which is fine, but you could also only ever get 4 skinks per box. That's not to say that skinks are bad - they're supposed to be your agility-based ball carriers, after all - but if that's all you're getting and the only addition you can get is a kroxigor, you're capped at 13 players total, and bear in mind that skinks have thus far been supposed to be "linesmen" for the purpose of journeymen hired on as inducements, and thus aren't capped at the moment.

This is just more "breadcrumbs for ducklings" when what we need are the "meat and potatoes" of it, and that I feel we'll only get when the physical rulebook is in front of us. This was the same issue I saw with Horus Heresy, and I can tell you that it's not fun to follow.

That seems like a fair concern. Looks like we won't have to wait too long to find out.

Arnold conan wasn't bad, its just power metal conan vs Momoa's more gritty conan
I don't remember Momoa's Conan as gritty (or grittier than the original Conan movie). But it's been a while since I've seen it and I only watched it once.

Some leaks if you are interested to know early. I'd love to know your thoughts on it.

Any guesses?

None really... except that this next batch of Arcane Journals also appears to be one focusing on each of the main factions. The most recent one to be released was the Tomb King-focused War of Settra's Fury, and the next one is focusing on Warriors of Chaos with the revamped Marauders... so perhaps one focused on High Elves or Wood Elves next? As Dwarfs got something in the form of the Slayer Army in War of Settra's Fury, as did Empire and Bretonnia in effect.

Perhaps one that delves more deeply into Wood Elves vs Beastmen? Any new Beastmen plastics that could result from it would be most welcome...

Is there any particular model you would be most interested in?

Alas, that does seem much more likely than a new army.

On one hand, it's good that they chose not to cap the teams at just what's in the box + big guys, with a universal 16-player max for team rosters and damn-near universal 0-16 option for players with the Linesman keyword. On the other hand, it still means that some teams (especially Lizardmen) need multiple boxes in order to pad out to a full team of 16.
