This is what I would have liked to have seen instead of a dragon. Beautiful model and paintjob.

I completely agree. I had hoped we would get the Titan in this new edition and I still need to get off my wallet and buy the one I've seen for sale. I've let it go but I'm the guy who was annoyed that they put Arkham the Black in the TK book instead of a more TK character but GW has to always throw VC in the Undead mix.The vulture's certainly better and fits with the Carrion, though for me the number one choice as an alternative model is the Khemric Titan/giant Scarab statue. I far and away prefer the Tomb Kings using statues over reanimated monster corpses (which is a much more a Vampire Counts thing). Indeed it fits the lore better in my eye too - the Tomb Kings hate being Undead and they never wanted to be Undead in the first place, so it appears hypocritical if they force that servitude upon the corpses of other creatures as well (whereas Vampires and Necromancers of course have no qualms in doing so for humans or larger creatures, having sought the gifts of Undeath willingly).
By contrast, the animated statues are a relic of the wars fought by the Tomb Kings when they were human against Nagash's legions of Undead, so naturally the ancient magicks within those statues are still programming them to fight alongside their masters, whether they are living or Undead, and their original success against the Great Necromancer's armies would naturally present them as a trusted source of durable allies to the Tomb Kings.

This is true. Sadly I seldom get to play it as my group tends to prefer 7th edition with 6th edition armybooks.Absolutely, we should have got a plastic Khemric Titan rather than the resurrection of a horrible idea from Warmaster, but on the plus side we do at least now have a non-Forge World-fanfic profile that would work very nicely for the Titan. Not to mention there are a couple of lovely 3D-printer options out there we can combine with buying the Bone Dragon rider bitz off the net to customise the unit to our liking.
I agree it was a bit sour of GW to put in one of the Tomb Kings' mortal enemies in their own book in 8th.
But then, we don't need to care anymore about that given TOW is here and there's no Arkhan to be seen in the TK journal![]()

I like a great deal of 7th edition armybooks but the power creep just became painful. My main armies being Tomb Kings and Wood Elves doesn't hurt my liking of 6th either. We have a few guys who ask for the use of 7th books, mostly Empire and myself for the Warhammer Armies Project Dogs of War. People who do use the later books tend to be those who don't use unfun lists such as the tourney standard Empire list with two steam tanks and a War Altar. Sadly at this time we are low on anyone playing as life has been hectic and it's been a battle to get a battle.Ah yes, I think I remember now that your group preferred to give 7th some love, which isn't a bad thing at all (it could definitely do with some). I do admit the idea of 7th with 6th books is interesting, though it would mean I'd have to hunt around for the 6th Lizardmen, Skaven, High Elf and Greenskin ones and put my 7th books for those armies into mothballs. I have the late 6th Dwarf one as it was used throughout 7th anyway, and bought the 6th Beastmen one out of curiosity to see just how different they were from their 7th (and 8th) incarnation.
Looks like some very heavy reinforcement for the Tomb Kings. This may just unbalance things

I like the headdress.
Agreed. It's a pretty cool design. Nice TK aesthetics throughout.I like the headdress.
Very well done.BTW, please note that it's a crocodile, not a dragon![]()
