Blog Sleepy corner

Kiddo was getting interested! I proposed if he wants to play with his painted models like grown ups do. In last couple of days, he is four games deep inside the rabbit hole. :D
First three were his marines against my death guard opposites, basically using "red vs blue" rules. Third game I added cover mechanic.
Fourth game was his marines against my Tau. It was also first game he didn't win. :)

"SP" are scare points. Basically HP, but out models do not die, just retreat to fight another day.

Bugger wants some tanks and mecha next, so I prepared printbed with couple of downscaled tanks and mechs from battletech. I'll be making similar simple rules for them.

Finally made "possibly final" version of my US list for Bolt Action annual play. I knew I might be missing few rifles, but oof... I am missing 17. Need to get to work immediately. 8 HQ rifles and then 9 ordinary ones. I already started on 12, so I shove 3 of them into bits box to save time, because on top of that I also need 2 mortar and 1 MMG teams, of which only single mortar is half painted and rest isn't even assembled.

...

Also, play isn't even month away and I haven't even played 3rd edition yet :D

And I also have to put grass on bases...

Darn...

Here is what I have so far:

After mental olympics, many US lists and consulting with more experienced players later, I tweaked my BA list. Now I only need 6 riflemen, same support teams and halftrack.
Basically, I traded 11 soldiers for halftrack.

Here is progress:

I pushed through last night and finished those that were half painted. Today, while kiddo was watching TV, I put tufts on bases to figure how will whole army look. Now onto about 70 more bases :D

Medium Mortar:

2 HQ sections:

Also, missing just mortar, mmg and halftrack to finish this list. Each day I am closer to deadline.

And numbers are rising!
Bolt action support weapons are painted. I'll throw in photo after I put tufts on bases.

Kiddo's game is getting better and better. To better differentiate it from "Battletech", I came up with name "Robotek" (which also means little robot in czech) :D

4 objectives are made from failed prints. I am still waiting on aircrafts and one more tank per side, then onto game board.

Nice! And using failed prints as a objective markers is a great idea. Have fun playing.

Grrr, !mrahil

Thank you.
To be fair, colleague tried different resin and most of the prints had some fails where it suddenly stopped printing parts after while, so there are lots of just partial barrels, and all tanks have missing layer or two in the middle, but it is not something really important in such small scale. :)

I have all four missing models on table now (2 tanks, 2 jets) and after they are finished, onto the rules and board we go. :)

Working on board. First of all, I printed 2 sheets of paper with image from google earth overlayed by hexagons. Then I took 2mm cardstock and covered it with thin doublesided tape.

Then onto laying.

And cutting... Lots of cutting.
And then, basic board is done.

Next step is to make modular hills and rock faces from those grey pieces.

12 orcs done.

Beautiful, as always!

I received more Nids from friend who commisions me to paint them. There are bugs in the future.
Yay! :woot:

My old and battered halftrack is finished. It's been sitting in box, assembled with homemade tarp since 2019. There is battle damage visible. MG was missing barrell and MG operator is god knows where. But it is finished in time!

Comission nids arrived, along with special request bases, because he wants to use his nids for 40k and as Nightstalkers in Kings of War.

It will be 24 models and plenty of bases for them and models I already painted in the past.

Second game of Robo-Tek with kiddo. This time with finished terrain. Kiddo loves it!

So far still without aircraft and objectives, but he understands the concept and is eager to blow up my tanks :D
