This is why I keep my minis in plastic shoeboxes on a shelf unit that is good at keeping things where they belong.
Piece of advice though: while it may be tempting, do NOT put metal minis into a wheeled case and then walk down a concrete, cobblestone, or asphalt sidewalk/road. The vibrations from the wheels on the pavement can, and WILL strip the paint from those metal minis. I learned this the HARD WAY and had to repaint a 2000 point Dogs of War army back in 5th edition...
Dogs of War you say? A person of taste! This is why I keep my minis in plastic shoeboxes on a shelf unit that is good at keeping things where they belong.

Yeah, I miss that army. Sold most of it off years ago during a period of unemployment to cover bills. I still have Tichi-Huichi's Lizardman Raiders and a few figures from Ruglud's Armored Orcs, but everything else is decades-gone now.![]()
Thing is, though, my Tyranids are still my army, so I'd have thought they'd be willing to serve me, as their creator and Hive Mind.
So, you are gonna unleash them upon the world?![]()
It would be wrong to subject others to my swarm for no reason. I shall keep my swarm bound to my house, they shall serve well as a security force to protect it from interlopers.
That sucks but I respect your priorities. Food and shelter are more important than minis. I've sold off things as well due to financial crunches. I wanted to go to Historicon a few years ago but couldn't afford it, my second son was due in a few months and I refuse to jeopardize my families care for my entertainment. So I sold my 1st generation FW warhound Titan, it was a loss but I never get to use it so not as bad as it could be.Yeah, I miss that army. Finishing (/working on) Scarterra is a lower priority than jumping on board with a new Chaos Dwarfs army.I weep for your loss. I have a fair few Regiments of Renown, mostly still in the box. Not enough to field a full Dogs of War army. My original plan was and theoretically is to make an Empire army with RoR for flavor.
Problem is, finishing my Empire/Dogs of War army is a lower priority than finishing my my Undead Army.
Finishing my Undead Army is a lower priority than finishing my unfinished Lizardmen.
Finishing my Lizardmen army is a lower priority is a lower priority than deep cleaning my house.
Deep cleaning my house is a lower priority than Scarterra. And I'm not as productive with Scarterra as I'd like because...reasons.
i fear nids don't work that way.

Where the Hive Mind commands through its Synapse Creatures, the Tyranids obey... and as I said before, I am my swarm's Hive Mind...

Wouldn't the Necrons hard-counter the Tyranids? No bio-mass and stupendously advanced technology. There only one pattern for the hive mind. the ravenous hunger of your minions will become one with you.
