The never-ending battle against woke Hollywood and SJW infused entertainment media [trigger warning]

Another hopeful sign, though I don't give a hoot about Minecraft, Hollywood gave a segment of fans what they want and reaped the rewards. Hopefully they will take the right lessons from this.

Well, this will be something I won't be watching. Probably just as well it'll be on some degenerate streaming service I won't pay for anyway.

Andor was reputedly good but no one watched it because no one trusts Disney Star Wars now.

Furiosa was reputedly good but no one watched it because people were afraid it was a woke girl box movie.

Now the fate seems to have hit Ballerina. It is a female led action movie that the few people who have seen it say it's good, it's not woke, and it's not a Mary Sue, but no one is watching it.

I'm not a huge fan of modern day gun toting action movies. When I choose to watch said genre, I prefer to watch it via streaming, preferably with friends, and perhaps with adult beverages.

Being a cranky old man, I tend to rewatch 80s and 90s action flicks more than watching new stuff. Kill Bill was early 2000s. That is a commercially successful female led action movie.

I thought the Kill Bill movies were okay, but I don't have a strong desire to rewatch the movies over and over again. That's more of a Quentin Tarantino thing than a female action movie thing. I like Tarantino okay in small doses, but I don't think his movies are as deep and nuanced as his hardcore fans often claim.

One of the things that was brought up to me is that these movies would be ok but they aren't stand alone films. They are built on other franchises with all the baggage that comes with them. Ballerina is a John Wich film and is thus going to be held up against those movies. I have no interest in the movie but will admit John Wich 1 and 2 were fun, 3...less so. I'm also a cranky old man and the more special efforts a movie needs to sell the story the less I care. Seven Samurai is a great film and I can watch it over and over, Tarantino films tend to be sold on shock and profanity and I lose interest quickly.

the comment section is a goldmine... :D

My favorite is “Let’s reboot 1984, only this time, Big Brother is the GOOD GUY!”

The weird thing is, I'm pretty sure the people who made this show have no idea that what they created won't actually help their cause.

This is beyond parody.

Well woth the heightened awareness that we are being monitored constantly and the media trying to sell it as watching out for the bad guys. It's not bad right? Right? Make the people doing it "heroes" and the information war get a facelift.

Apparently, the antidote to western woke media, is eastern media.

Watched it with my niece, not gonna lie it was entertaining. They allowed the females to be female and could be silly or badass and not just acting like angry men. The men weren't just stupid and useless. It was actually something I would watch again.
