I hit nineth place in word count despite having written less than last year. Perhaps nine is a number my writing is linked with...
World Anvil lists the ranking of every author who hits over 10,000 words, but they only cover the top ten for number of articles. This is the first year I made the list at all (I think) and this year I hit sixth place. That is progress. I wrote a lot of short articles about places and titles this year. Useful references for who is reporting to whom, but not super sexy articles.
Also six and nine are connected numbers.
My articles on "D" names being politically chart hit the lower echelons of the "like" board for traditions. This is the first time I ever hit a like board at all. That is progress.
I also got a couple of new followers on Scarterra. That's progress.
I even got one like one or two likes on
old articles. That means someone liked my new stuff enough to surf my thought, at least a little bit. My dream of dreams is to get people to get invested in the Nine.
Towards that end I am working with the talented Zeta Gardner to make quality portraits for all of the Nine. It will likely take a while. I'm paying Zeta a markup on his usual portrait rate to make up for my extra pickiness on this topic.
Like most people I do not usually follow through with my New Years resolutions but I hope to advance Scarterra to new heights in 2024. I am INTP but I need to be more like an INTJ.
My biggest weakness in Scarterra is that I like world building more than I like story crafting but world building is useless without stories to go with it. I have made very very little progress on my novel and I only have two short stories thus far. I need to do better.
I am also looking into self publishing an RPG book. I have 80% of the bones done, I just need to work on making it prettier and easier to reference.
My basic needs are already met and I am getting a modest windfall. I plan to use this money to invest in more Scarterran artwork and to talk to a lawyer about trademarking Scarterra, just in case.
I of course use Lustria-Online to "tell everyone".
I do this a lot, but Scarterra is much bigger and more advanced than it ever was so I am making progress even if it is not linear progress.
