The Futurama team had such great reverence for Star Trek, they did not want to reference it casually. They seemed to clearly believe the Original Series was the best version of Star Trek. They frequently cast shade on the others.

I guess Disney is making new Futurama, but I'm not going to watch it. I don't trust Disney to manage the IP well and besides, Futurama already had a satisfactory ending.
