Down for the kasrkin. A mere glimpse and I immediately recognized the artwork it's based off of.

Ms Von Carstein however... It might just be the how the team painted her, but she looks less like a vampire and more like a ghost in need of teens with attitude to face off against.

I'm not a fan of her either. This is what happens when they don't stylize female armour. Yes, it looks more "realistic", but you can barely even tell that it is supposed to be a female model.

It's not really about the character being female or that the armour isn't stylized enough to suggest as much that's throwing me off, but rather that it just doesn't really come across as being all that vampiric. If anything, I'm getting Slaaneshi Champion vibes, if not an up-armoured Rita Repulsa, instead of something befitting a proud (and likely insane) Mistress of the Midnight Aristocracy.

That's a good point too. For me though, the biggest issue is a lack of differentiation.

Either way, I don't think I'd be using the "Maleficent" helmet if I can help it.

In all fairness however, If I really wanted to buy a model of a battle-ready vampire lady (let alone an armoured one) who didn't look like a Genestealer Cult reject, and have it in such a way that clearly defines them as a female vampire, I'd probably be looking for something along the lines of taking a gala dress and turning it into a gothic suit of fluted platemail, frills and all.

There’s nothing there that screams vampire to me. It’s evil but that’s about it, the chalice is supposed to be the nod but it’s so plain and generic.

I would have said it’s a dark elf given no other info.

I have a soft spot for vampire counts as an army, my favourite lord model being this one:

It’s an incredibly dynamic model for something so simple.

So that's the vibe I was getting off of the head and not something like a bugs mandibles. I'm definitely getting the Rita repulsa meme playing through my head now.

I like the kasrkin except for the head. The details look kind of mushed and not very much like the original artwork.

well that's a rather silly law.

Meh, like others have said; the bigger problem is just that it looks generic.
It could be any vaguely evil faction in Warhammer and it'd fit.
Hell, with the right paintjob you could probably make it look reasonably heroic and fit it in a CoS army (or well, the "old CoS I guess.. not square enough for the new CoS models)

Unfortunately we have quite a few stupid laws in Canada. At least this one has no effect on me, I was never going to subscribe to Warhammer+ anyways. I offers absolutely nothing that I actually want.

At least we can all agree that the model is subpar, even if we arrive at the same conclusion for different reasons.

Ok, NOVA reveal in less then 18 hours (when posting), whishes/bets?

  • 40K: Marine kits still pending.
  • Part 2 of Dawnbringers Crusaders.
  • Jump packs for HH.
  • Something TK or an actual faction for TOW (please no more horse lovers).
  • Betting Anvil Squig comes from Warcy or Underworlds.
  • Want to get surprised by BB. BTW Just got my demo two weeks ago, Imperials vs Black Orcs. Lost because Those Imps stright up killed two of my orcs, permanently injured another and also killed my troll.
