Blog Sleepy corner

I worked from home last couple of days, which mean no painting, but I spent some time looking for troglodon paint scheme... A lot of time really ... And I still can't decide. There are few that I like, but I have to mix speedpaints to get similar colours and that is something I am bad at, so I at least figured where to try it out: on pieces from actual kit :)

After couple of tries, I finally decided on paint scheme and I can start painting this little one. :)

Some of final colours were really surprising. From 14 combinations, I found recipes for nice dark leather, shark-like tone and great moss green.

And brush finally touched troglodon. Fins are done.

Office fun today! I pierced my thumb with x-acto while cleaning old DG plague marines. Anyway... I pulled my disgustingly resilient inner me and finished the job. I just have to melt last remains of mold lines with Mr. Cement.

He received coat of paint on Tuesday and I am waiting for hobby time to paint accesories. Sadly, I forgot to take a picture with progress. :)
 
Your Death Guard are gonna look sick! (Apologies)

I’m loving the bottles of poisons on his back.

I think Death Guard are an army that lends themselves well to good painters.

Death guard looks great by default, even painted by person holding brush for the first time. :)
 
Welp... My isopropyl is completely non-transparent, so there are plenty of faces where paint is still stuck. Hopefuly I'll have time for round 2 soon.

I managed to base troglodon today. Dino itself is done, only skink priest is still on sprue. No pictures for now, as I will put it to this month contest. :)
 
I managed to sell some more unbuilt models that were gathering dust and bought few of those new death guard space marine heroes. Then I found out that better half bought some for fathers day. So I'll have 10 soon :) fingers crossed that I don't get just 10 same guys with boltguns. :D
 
First 5 arrived. And so far no doubles. :)
I even got previously super rare guy that was so rare that I heard tournaments assumed it was a recast if you brought the mini.

All and all, I have 3 of the same boltgun guys and 2 same grenade&boltgun guys. Other than that, I have full set :)
 
I am masochist and I hate myself :D
I also spent last three lunchbreaks by cleaning new sarus warriors. But that is done now and I can finally start gluing them together.
 
What kind of person did you block in the background with a great unclean?:)

I mean .... I don't really want to know.... But if the person (maybe wife) in the frame may see it..... Just in case....
 
Thanks for reasonable concern :D

That is me with kiddo on picture. I don't need to see myself, kiddo likes miniatures more than pictures and I was appointed to cleaning duty on my desk, so this was just temporary during dust collecting. :D

Edit: also great unclean one is apparently comparable to me in beauty standarts as better half didn't even noticed it in 3 hours. :D
