Well thank you!

What I've been up to...

Firstly, I printed a second massive horned stegadon conversion... And secondly I've printed a new version of my trex carnosaur.

The first trex was marred by a uncured resin issue, and his head just doesn't look mean enough. This new version is a bit before all around and has a new head... They should be similar enough though that look like they belong together once painted.

Thirdly we have some heavily modified saurus from the new box set.

My opinion of the new Saurus boils down to: the heads need more muzzle and are too small... The legs are too stubby.

I also just don't care for sigmar aesthetics.

So I replaced the heads and most shield arms and it works well enough.

Here is my temple guard (printed about 10 percent larger than my standard Saurus) vs the new Saurus.

So the new Saurus might be beefy enough to act as my temple guard if I want to ignore the ones I've got. I'm torn about it.

I also have my big feather heads... Or, less impressive skull heads.

Since I may never get additional new Saurus... I think I'm going to keep them with the skull heads, and have them be a unique unit of "savage spears" ie Saurus that act more like elite scouts, rather then have them serve as temple guard.

We'll see.

Oh man all of these are awesome :wideyed:

I love all the giant dinosaurs... this is why I will be getting a 3D printer someday.

I agree, I like the grey-faced one better, I think because your skinks are already green.

Thank you for the feedback!

I saw someone online so a cool tan and green with orange and decided to have a go at it.

I then took the green skin and made it a similar tan.

I think I may just have my ten raptadons be a bunch of variants with some repeats because they are really fun to paint with contrast paints.

Greenboy, Murder Turkey, and Coal-face.

Just need to flock the bases (lol) and decide on the eyes.

I think if I stay consistent with eyes and skin, only use two or so crest variants, I can play around with everything else figure to figure.

They look really great. Also love the nicknames :D

Damn they look nice, initial was leaning towards the grey faced, but the green one with the yellow frill looks dope as well.
Great work man.

Grrr, !mrahil

I have been making progress on my various starter box contents...

First up... The finished murder chickens... Which I believe will remain riderless and act more as war-dogs than cavalry in my army.

Pupils were achieved via a acrylic pen.

I really like that gator-chief guy!

And the new saurus look great too!

Darn! I didn´t like raptadons up until now. Now I want to paint my murder chickens too! Great job. :)

And then we have new Saurus using oprm heads and some other parts.

I like the new Saurus, they are fun to paint, but the heads are far too small and non Saurian in my opinion.

I agree, GW really have forgotten what Saurus are meant to look like since they hired the sculptor of the Carnosaur Oldblood/Scar-Vet (who clearly sculpted all the new Saurus as well), resulting in Saurus with embarrassingly short, ineffective-looking jaws when jaws are meant to be the main feature of Saurus Warriors that sets them apart from other brawny warriors like Orcs, Chaos Warriors and Gors.

The OPR heads certainly go some way toward fixing that.

Great paintjobs on the new models!!
I like the tweaks you did to the Saurus Warriors, all the extra bits give them more flavor than the standard set-up

Looking forward to your Slann and the Aggradons :)

Well shoot ... Over a year since I posted! Time sure does inevitably match forward uncaring of humanity's fate and suffering eh?

But I've not been entirely idle!

Firstly, the mage priest!

I did my typical things for the base and throne, mirroring my Lord Kroak, except I attempted some glowy blue bits... Which I think if I was brave enough to attempt object source lighting would be amazing. But I'm a coward lol.

Frogboy himself was a bit out there, and I'm happy with him, but I'd love to try a simpler grittier scheme on a spare slann someday. I'm happiest with his pinkish metallic eyes and the pink lightning though

I'm still a fan of the original slann look, but the pallaquin upgrade is amazing.

Alrighty, next up is some Aggradon Lancers. I started with a deep green and orange scheme and then one of them was... Disappointing, so I repainted him into a teal that I enjoyed. Conceptually I still prefer the green, and I want to add a couple more like them.
