Blog Paint & Kitbashes (2023) with Suds

Hey everyone, wanted to share my current WIP with you all!

Working on this Star Priest, one of 4 total (1 done, 3 to go). This Star Priest's scheme is inspired by sunsets that i see behind my house, the staff he wields holding a Sun Orb.

Still WIP but any C&C is welcome :) may finish later today

Happy hobbying everyone ❤

Nice conversion, relatively good coverage, and clean paintwork.

The gold needs touch ups, especially upon the sides of the headdress and near the base of the feathers, as i can see primer through it.

Gold for sure does, thank you sir!

I appreciate it :) and thanks for the kind words as well!

Will you put something in the hole of the horn? It looks somehow strange to me, but only my opinion.

Hey everyone, happy Tuesday (I hope)!

I finally finished this Star Priest and I'm pretty stoked about it. I think I did a real good job at making what i had in my head come to life on the model. I envisioned a Star Priest of Chotec with the scale patterns of a Sunset, and I think I captured that pretty well. There are a lot of wonderful subsets behind my house, and they're often inspiration for color schemes.

I really enjoy how the colors play together, you have two very bright points with the orange scales and blue feathers, which help bring out the cooler purples and greens. Tue gold came out real nice too I think, not too heavy I think - I did a small wash of Cassandora Yellow on it also.

The staff's orb i was going for a "sun gem" or "sun orb" where a blast of light can come from, or was a thought at least.

I'm really pumped about this model, and still have 2 more to do! Lol.

This is the most consistent painting I've done in awhile, feels good to finish something.

Very nice! I love the colour scheme and the base looks great!

Just one thing, I think the gold could do with a little touch up here and there as the coverage over the black primer looks a bit patchy in some spots.

Great work though and looking forward to what you paint next :)

Thank you! Yeah! I noticed after you commented lol definitely went back and did some touch ups, thanks! Look at a model for so long, definitely miss a few things haha. I appreciate it!

Great work man, I love the colorscheme very much and the base is an awesome step up from the original stairs bit.

Grrr, !mrahil
Thanks man! Yeah, I wanted to do something a bit differently for the base and have so many Stegadon bits, felt right. Plus, added bonus, haven't ever seen anyone else do it, so feels that much more unique, to me at least! Thanks again man

Happy WIP Wednesday everyone!

Still very much focused on my Seraphon and especially with MonstersOfMarch has begun! Along with still working on my skinks (infernal things) I have qlso began work again on the Unirontosaurian and the Engine of Tzunki which is carried on its back.

The Unirontosaurian is a Sauropod creature thst i invented for my Seraphon. Inspired by both Warhammer Lizardmen art and the Diplodocus, the Unirontosaurian is heavily naturally armored, not to mention that it's tail can make an impact like a whip, able to make a bloody pulp of a demon of Khorne. Large meadow and edge of thenforest dwelling creatures, they are always found around and in rivers which carve through the landscapes, often wading through the rivers to cool off.

It is perhaps for reason, and its natural strength, that the Temple of Tzunki and its Star Seer decided to fit the Engine of Tzunki atop the largest Unirontosaurian they could find, Ulamex.

For the model, I've been working on the howdah the most, from the blue shields, to wood work, and beyond. Currently, I am working on getting the side/hip armor to match on either side - a lot of triangles lol.

I'm really happy with this so far and very stoked to see if finished, hopefully soon!

I decided to set up a full mock up of my Unirontosaurian and Engine of the Gods so I could check out placement. I absolutely love how it will potentially look, so happy I began work on this again.

For the skinks I decided due to the design that two skinks (and possibly still a priest) will be up above in the front portion of the howdah, and the rest will be an "escort" walking on either side of the creature. For this reason I gave the skinks shields, it felt more realistic to have them carry shields as escorts, and more likely to have foes ontop of them. I used one of the icons to make a banner bearer of sorts also, which I think is pretty cool. Skink color I'm debating, originally was going to go orange like my other Engine, as skinks of Itzl controlling the beast... but debating making those as escorts more into a Tzunki theme? We'll see.

I am still debating how I want to do the lightning (opinions welcome) between the Yellow/White you see now vs a Blue/White lightning. Im semi leaning blue/white, but we'll see!

All in all very excited and can't wait to see it finished.20230309_193047.jpg 20230309_193123.jpg 20230309_193151.jpg 20230309_193244.jpg 20230309_193311.jpg

This is such a great looking and unique creature!! I love the mock up.

I think that the color of the lightning depents on the color of the skinks. If you'd go with a color close to orange for the skinks I'd go blue and white. If you'd go for a color close to blue I'd go for yellow and white lightning.

Good luck
