In the past year or so, in my varying interactions with individuals, I have developed a sense that whenever I interact with someone, particularly someone of the opposite gender that could be considered eligible, who has no passions or zeal in life and makes little effort to keep up a conversation, I start feeling more and more depressed inside until I feel no choice but to politely part ways. In a way it's a good thing that I've developed a greater instinct of knowing when a girl is not for me before investing time, money and love into her, because I can withdraw and continue my search for someone with creative passions and interests like myself, and be glad that I haven't wasted anything on someone who clearly isn't worthy of my affections.

It's just painful though, from the perspective of a young man whose life is pleasantly ruled by hobbies, to see that there are people who don't bother to have any, or at most spend all their non-working hours down the gym or running just so they can post pictures of their unnatural-looking toned bodies on social media, rather than doing something creative or a more entertaining form of exercise like playing your favourite sport for the fun of it. I just can't understand how there can be some people who mooch through life without creative pursuits to actually inject some mental excitement into life, and never realise that they need some.
