AoS NEW *rumor*

I am new here and I only joined this page recently, hello.
I have incredibly recently started to play AoS (I started my seraphon army in 1997 but just painted it) it is unreal what a mixed bag of models we have. We need a few new units to replace some truly awful sculpts that we currently have. Does anyone think that there will be a big release of new seraphon models soon?

The skinks are not bad and bastiladon and also the direchasm ones and new kroak were great.
I hate these models:
- Salamander (I use the old metal dimetrodon ones as they are better than current one)
- saurus warriors (so so goofy with weird bodies. Hold one next to klaq-trok)
- saurus knights, riders too big and coldones look like cartoons
- kroxigors
-chameleon skinks

Why not? You WILL buy the new minis. It is not a choice

Personally I still think we are getting a battlebox.

We've just had our last battlebox for aos go on pre-purchase and it won't be too long until we see the next one teased. Which I suspect to be at Nova preview.

Hopefully.

As in, a battlebox with new models? I would be very surprised to see that revealed next week. We already know the lineup of tomes being released for the rest of the year (Seraphon isn't among them), and a range overhaul like this would almost certainly be released alongside a new tome.

I don't doubt we'll get new sculpts eventually, but I think the Warcry team is about all we should expect in the near future.

I thought we were getting a final order battletome this year?

Which would be either Cities of signar, Kharadron Overlords, Seraphon or Lumineth Realm lords?

Which are we getting instead?

If it is 100% warcry, what do we expect to actually see inside the box beside a few chameleons?

Can imagine us all buying 15 boxes of the new warcry box just to get 15 new saurus knights, new saurus amd new skonks, if any others mpdels appear in the box imagine there was a kroxigor
Knights in a warcry box? That seems highly unlikely.

I thought Sylvaneth was last year : c

It's obviously Lumineth, right? They have a battle box with Tzeentch coming out soon. That checks off the Order and Chaos tomes slated for release this season, with two destruction books coming afterwards (presumably Gitz + Ogors).

Then we have a Chaos tome slated for later in the year (confirmed to be Slaves to Darkness).

Our release is almost certainly a Warcry release. The new Warcry teaser shows what appears to clearly be a new Chameleon Skink model.

As for what else might be included besides chameleons? Who could say? Honestly, given how old our current Chameleon sculpts are, I'd be happy if it was just new models for them.

Not trying to rain on anyone's parade, but I think it's important to temper our expectations here. A full-fledged range rework/addition at this time would be way out of left-field considering what we know of the release schedule.

Woudn't a Lumineth Battletome have been shown by now considering the lumineth vs tzeentch battlebox is being released this upcoming weekend?

How do we know it's 100% warcry anyway? Not arguing just curious how specifically we know.

There's often a bit of a gap between battle boxes and battle tomes. As a recent example, this was the case for Idoneth and Fyreslayers.

As for the Warcry stuff, see for yourself:

This guy was teased right after the Warcry trailer announced "New Warbands and terrain".

Oh my bad, I missed that trailer [The Gnarwood Grows - Warcry]

So that means I'll have to buy a £140 box for some chameleon skinks or wait a year to buy them seperate?

Assuming it's just chameleons.

You'll be best off waiting a year for them to appear separately, your wallet will thank you for it ;)

It would make so much more sense for it to just be Chameleons, then you wouldn't need to buy multiple boxes just for them to surpass the minimum unit size. Given all Warbands have a specific theme to them, I wouldn't be surprised if GW coined a couple of different new Chameleon troop types for the purposes of model diversity in the Warband.

Honestly, I have little hope for a box set initially designed with Warcry in mind to have the capacity of taking even a uniform weapon loadout for an MSU of a given unit. Time will tell however, and I'd prefer if I was wrong.

The dedicated warbands tend to be their own units, much like the underworld stuff.
So I wouldn't expect a new chameleon sculpt for the existing unit. However a new chameleon-like unit might be viable I guess.

Yep, that's the most plausible scenario

The Chaos Legionnaires warband has some interesting utility for Slaves to Darkness players, so there's certainly a chance that ours could also be strong.

Warbands also trend towards being battleline too, so expanding our options there would be cool.
