I just picked up a handful of metal models in an ebay lot, but I have one model that has me at a loss, has a similar loadout to a scar-vet on foot, but it is roughly the size of a kroxigor, and I can't find it in the collectors guide. Does anyone else recognize it?

Nope.

I believe this isn't anything from GW or Forgeworld.

Correct.

Probably one of the many alternates you can 3D print.

Incorrect given @VikingRage said it was a metal model. I would hazard a guess that it's an Avatars of War model because their Lizardmen always looked particularly dinosaurian.

*One quick search on the internet later*

Yes, I believe it's this chap, who can allegedly be modelled with a hand weapon and shield, as your model has, as well as the great weapon pictured:

Huzzah, I've a found a pic on their site of one with a hand weapon and shield:

Looks like the same model to me!

I also believe it was sculpted by none other than our own @Rikard!

That's awesome, thanks @Lord Agragax of Lunaxoatl

I didn't notice the model in the listing (there were a ton of other og plastic saurus warriors and skink archers mixed in with metal one. I am the happy owner of a metal slann plus two skink shamans with skull staffs). It is the model that struck me for a moment when I saw it and made me wonder why GW shifted away from such a spectacular style for their models! My best consolidation is that the great weapon design on their site is going to be my Kroxigor proxy when I get them! Thanks @Rikard!

Yup, very first professional model I sculpted.
I've been thinking a load recently, although I parted ways with AOW I've been thinking about doing more work for Felix again, the pay is low (3D is faster and better, but the satisfaction gained from seeing models get cast is really rewarding).

I've been really slow with the other thread (combination of more Covid, trying to finish my Gor-rok sculpt - for casting and trying to figure out where to take forum work next).

Have you considered working to get your stuff made in plastic? I have connections and would be willing try and help.

I know you mainly work physically, so I don't know how much 3d sculpting you do.

Another curiosity popped up on the internet. Anyone recognize this model?20230216_121558.jpg

I wondered if that was it when couldn't find it in some of the older warhammer catalogs.

So this was a long while back.
Can anyone confirm or deny this model's authenticity?
I have never seen a Kroq-Gar on foot model before, but I lost the bid in the end.
I suppose he was destined to ride a Carnosaur.

Oof, cool find, sorry you missed it.

Not sure btw, giving me such saurus guard vibes, but hopefully someone else knows

I severely doubt that this model was intended to be Kroq-Gar, because Kroq-Gar was never a Temple Guard. I reckon the seller just put the name up there to attract bids - notice how he also claimed this model is a Kroxigor, yet this model is blatantly not one (and neither is Kroq-Gar). However, I wouldn't be surprised if this could have been a potential model for Chakax, or at least a generic Temple Guard character designed for the 7th Edition book but dropped out of the final product.

I always thought it might have been a mix between the plastic Oldblood on foot's body with the great weapon from the Carnosaur kit.

Unreleased Lizardmen Chakax...
Oh my, looks like the entry was added in 2018.
I wonder if the pictures are from the sale.
Looks like there was another on eBay at some point.

That's a nice model!

It's also sculpted by the same guy. But you're probably right.
