Well, with the way these Disney Star Wars (and Marvel) shows have been going, I wouldn't get your hopes up.

That's very true, given they ported the Power Rangers' scooters into Book of Boba Fett and look set to humiliate Obi-Wan with a black woman in the Kenobi series, they could easily ruin Andor too. I'll still watch it if it ever comes out on DVD (not while it is locked behind the Disney+ paywall), but I'll remain wary of any potential silliness they might bring in. To be fair I was apprehensive of Rogue One when I first went into the cinema to see it, after they made Episode VII so poor, and was pleasantly surprised, so perhaps that is the mindset to preserve when preparing to watch any of Disney's Star Wars creations - if it's trash, you won't be as disappointed as if you were full of hype, while if it's great (which would be a miracle if it came from Disney) then you can celebrate all the more.

I can see Disney giving this series more effort, since Andor is a character of Disney's own creation (more or less).

I watched the first two episodes of Obi-wan in hopes that, with McGregor in the series, they would give it "maximum effort" (thanks Deadpool). I don't know, I'm not super excited about the story and the acting is only okay, to me. McGregor is fine, I guess, but my favorite performance so far was Uncle Owen. Everyone feels like they're acting, if that makes any sense, including Reva. Plus, from all of the rumors and spoilers I've heard/seen, I'm not crazy with how the story is progressing. I'm certain many of my opinions are colored by this story's connection to how things flow into the OT. I even have some beef with Rogue One about that.
