Articles to print in 3D - Lizardmen / Seraphon

If this is how you are going to start your career as a 3D designer, I wish you good luck.
Because that's how Raven Twin started like you, and we all know how he's doing.
Ah, but you're not giving up! I don't even know who Raven Twin is....it's not my job, don't worry about me, it's just a hobby, I earn my living differently with much more complex 3D .

Guys, just a friendly reminder:

@Ge32 : i'm not into 3D printing, so i cannot judge the merits of your accusations. However you've made your points, so i invite you to don't insist with this. People will judge by themselves.

@PAC : you're new here, and ATM your only contribution to the forum was this blatant merchandising. But i'll give you the benefit of doubts and so I hope your presence here is to share hobby interests, not purely for commercialism.

I consider the issue settled.

Not super lizard-related, but I have started sculpting a dracoline proxy.
I plan on using them as mounts for lizards, so I guess theres that lol.
Got tired of not being able to find good proxies.
Will post updates as I go!

The first pose is textured and done! I will still add a saddle to it, but thats a whole nother step...

Just have to repeat the texturing two more times!

The open mouth mods you did the file look soo good! Great paint job too!

The base decos are neat too, not exactly lizard related but do you have sources?

Sure! The base decorations are from two sources (well, 4 if you count EVERYTHING, but 2 printing sources)
The base layer is a rocks and sand mix covered with italian seasoning (great jungle base).

The larger sort of rocks with plants on them are from a Print your Monsters kickstarter called fantastic plants and rocks, possibly volume 2, there is also a volume 3 apparently.

The smaller foliage is from a company called epic basing. Can't recommend them enough, all their stuff comes very nicely presupported, and scales wonderfully. This model specifically has "ferns" and "groundcover tufts"

At the end I snuck a chameleon skink in for basing as well.

A small sample of my WIP, of what will be the door of the inner wall.

WhatsApp Image 2022-06-02 at 12.15.02 AM.jpeg

Yes, it will be an internal wall that will have the function of protecting valuable things such as temples or sacred places.

And later I will make the outer wall. That will be colossal.

Hope you like.

Raven Twin Miniatures has some epic new Lizardmen files on his Patreon. Boy do I love that Gor-Rok, Zlaaq + Mazda and the Tehenhauin scuplts. I have noticed there has been some controversy around Raven Twin Miniatures, but these models are amazing as a Lizardmen fanboy!

I wouldn't buy him if I were you, RavenTwin is Norba 2.0

GE, you seem to have some strong feelings about some of these companies, but many of us have no idea what you are talking about. Could you explain? What has Raven Twin done? Who is Norba, and what did THEY do? Are these companies doing things which are illegal or shady?

Norba Miniatures is a Spanish company that has been having problems with customers since it does not deliver the products it has sold on its Patreon, scamming a lot of people

The problems range from not delivering what you have buy to responding badly privately to the same customers.

The problems have even reached the Norba sculptors themselves to whom pays misery and practically exploits them., who have distanced themselves greatly lowering their product quality.

The last and most controversial case has been that of scamming the Spanish Youtuber Mayorcete from Mundo Warhammer, who deserved it for being too proud to think that it would not happen to him, and naive since knowing the reputation of the company comes to make business deals.

-

Regarding Raven Twin Miniatures, which is also a Spanish company, it seems that it has been taking the same path as Norba by being late with the delivery of its material.

He does not treat his clients badly or insult him like Norba does, but he has earned a reputation for plagiarizing other sculptors, either from the style of sculpture as you will see what has happened with the Chaos Dwarfs and Lizardmen of Lost Kingdom Miniatures, even using chainmail designs from Arc3dstudio without permission, with whom he had a rather contentious discussion.

-

In any case, you can investigate a little more about the complaints that both companies have been having by visiting each one's Patreon, or the negative comments they have on Facebook.

My recommendation is simply, be careful buying from them, but you make the final decision.

Interesting. Pretty sure many potential customers have no idea of all this mess.

"Defending paladins" of the companies have appeared in the Patreon of both.
Accounts suspiciously loyal to the company, who defend cloak and shield speaking wonders despite the bad reputation.

Clearly they are the same owners who create fake accounts to balance negative reviews with positive comments.

You should be aware of that too.

Personally, the most reliable Spanish companies for the buy of miniature Lizardmen Proxies are Last Sword Miniatures and Lost Kingdom Miniatures, the rest of the companies I do not know and will not talk about.

Just to add on to what Ge32 has already said about them copying other creators, Raven Twin miniatures has received a lot of criticism for tagging some of their models with the names of other creators on MyMiniFactory to get more exposure.
Here is an example. It is tagged 'artisanguild' and 'titanforge', so any time people search for either of these creators, this model will show up as a result.

I have also heard bad things about the quality their presupported files, but I cannot personally attest to that.
