Well, if it's the build that you mention here:
Then it's clearly not the MoN with Glittering Scales variety.
Because @Lizards of Renown asked me about the Hortennse build, so I provided him with the breakdown of it.

Furthermore, I'm not defenceless - I have a 5+ Armour Save against your Chaos Lord after armour save penalties (1+ save base, -4 due to Strength 7), while you have no saves at all and are striking last due to your Great Weapon. The contributions of the Cold One and the Disc/Daemonic Mount will prove negligible as both will bounce off the other's armour/Wards, but I still think I'd have enough of an advantage in this scenario to beat your attempt at powergaming.
First off... you're list-tailoring against a general build. And even then it is a near coin toss.

Hortennse will do 2 wounds a round (with a chance of healing) and the Oldblood will do 1.5. IF the Oldblood does not break from combat AND Hortennse does not heal a wound via Soul Feeder, then you should be able to kill him in round 2 before he kills you. But that is a very big if! Like I said, you list-tailored a character to beat hortennse and you managed a coin toss, if I list-tailor, your Blade of Realities build gets destroyed. Even with a simple quick tweak, subbing in the Ogre Blade for the GW (or keeping the GW but throwing the Helm of Many Eyes into the mix), and the initiative advantage flips and you lose handedly. Or...
  • MoN + Glittering Scales build that has you hitting on 6's (and I still have 75 points of magic gear to play with)
  • Or TROLLS (they ignore your armour and you can't ignore their regen!!)
  • Or Throgg
  • Or a Chaos Lord build with Trickster's Helm + Seed of Rebirth
  • Hellfire Sword
  • Kholek
  • Sigvald

Bottom line, the Blade of Realities is not a good generalist build, while the Hortennse build might be the best. You still need to wound (with only S5), you can't ignore Regen and you don't have a ward/regen of your own. Too many things can counter that build, which is why you seldom see it fielded.

Alternatively if your Lord was the MoN with Glittering Scales variety, he wouldn't be able to take the MoT or the Third Eye, meaning he'd have to make do with a 4+ Ward Save, he wouldn't be able to take a Disc and would be more vulnerable to Searing Doom.
Now you're adding in a Slann to the mix. Are we talking about a Slaan + Oldblood versus MoN Chaos Lord + DP??

As for Searing Doom, better hope that the MoN lord isn't in a unit or in combat. Plus, your Oldblood is MORE vulnerable to Searing Doom as he doesn't have a ward at all!

When you need list tailoring to have barely a 50% chance against a certain general build, i smell something is overpowered and probably shouldn't exist in the first place.

There is no escape from Chaos, it marks us all.

It appears i am a farseer of Ctho, the legendary "lost craftworld."
Cool!

Well I'm with the isolationists apparently...

Not my cup of tea personally. Although I did get a good result on the Horus Heresy "Find Your Chapter" system where they ended up putting me in the Space Wolves (which is also my favourite chapter :D )
