GW News: LAS VEGAS OPEN 2025

Yeah, if you're going to add something to the nighthaunt a big model like an alternative to the black coach or a big spooky thing like a variant of lady olyander, would've been better.

Or even just some normal sized cavalry. Seeing as they only have 1 cavalry unit (and 3 cavalry heroes)

I thought the Dreadblade Harrows and Hexwraiths were both cavalry units for them?

weirdly, the Dreadblade harrows are heroes.
It's bizarre, as they are meant to go alongside the "true" hero and be buffed by it (the Knight of Shrouds on ethereal steed), but they are, indeed, heroes (and almost worthless if not for a useful secondary ability, but that's another story)

All this is secondary news. @Lord Agragax of Lunaxoatl already shared the more important news:

A lot of people are guessing that the mystery Chaos battletome will be Skaven because of the use of the word "mischief" in the teaser. I kind of hope not, because that would mean the rumors of Skaven getting a range refresh next year aren't true :(
I mean, GW constantly releases things in an illogical manner. Getting a new tome this year and a complete range refresh, invalidating a good chunk of that tome next year would be completly normal for them :p

One reveal not yet mentioned here: New named heroes for the Easterlings

Grrr, Imrahil
They're quite nice.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news... GW price increases

Yeah I saw that already. Boxes themselves won't go up too much, but books will be going up quite a way, £3 on Codices and Battletomes and more than that on Rulebooks and the like. Wouldn't be at all surprised if this is part of GW's master plan to achieve maximum (Ferengi voice) PROFIT

The irony is that if they had to increase prices, it would have been better to do so on the paints and brushes, as they are the cheapest things they sell, plus people buy paint more than models much of the time anyway, so it would warrant less of an increase on each individual product in the first place to achieve the planned increased return that GW wants.

That's true, but there is also a lot more competition in the business of miniature paint. GW make the best models in the world, but there are several companies that make paint that is least comparable to GW/Citadel. For instance, GW Contrast paints are about to get a whole lot of competition from Army Painter Speedpaints.

Oh man, I'm just waiting to see all the YouTube vids and articles in response to the upcoming price hike! They would use pound sterling as their example since that's the currency that will experience the smallest change. I'm curious to see how & where they'll end up 'rounding' some of these increases; will a box of Saurus end up being $44 as their math claims? Or will they decide to 'round' to an easier-to-add-up amount like $45?

Luckily our Aussie brethren who already have to pay ridiculous prices for these things don't have to worry about this, but that brings up the question; if it's hella expensive to ship to AUS as is and two of the 'expenses' you list that are increasing are shipping related, then why is it the countries that are the furthest away from the UK and would more than likely cost the most to ship stuff to the ones that are exempt?!

IDK...I smell some BS with this. They're profits were down from last year and I'm sure the big-wigs up top didn't like that, the player/consumer base is already conditioned to seeing random price-hikes so they figured, "let's just charge more. oh, but this time we'll give the peons a heads up, I'm sure they'll appreciate that!"

Wow, 10% for books too? I thought they were already pretty high :(

...then again, I can't be too surprised. I remember buying a box of tactical marines for $35 back around 2003 from the GW store (now $49 on the website), and I bought my plastic stegadon for $45 I think (its now $60!!!). I want to say I bought my four boxes of saurus warriors for $30 or $35 back then too.
