What are you doing today hobbywise?

Their later stuff is better. This model was from 2011 when they had only just introduced the wonder of resin with much undeserved hype

Yeah, that sounds right. They were still working out the kinks to casting in resin back then.

So I swung my one of my local hobby shops on the way home today.
$20 will buy you a decent amount of things for wargaming. 4+ jars of paint, a couple of decent brushes, basing supplies, bases, a character mini.... But something it does NOT normally buy...

Is the 6th edition orc wyvern!!! WAAAAAGH!!! (Oldhammer style! Well, Middle-hammer style, anyway...)

That is a very nice find. Amazing model!

Grrr, Imrahil

Finally got my arachni-rig built.

Once again indulging in my love of magnetizing Necromunda models (especially my Van Saar), since the Van Saar-specific brute can replace up to two servo arms with a plasma or rad gun.

No worries, we will wait until you have revealed your project to ensure you cannot use it at the contest :angelic:
:D

On a side note, the next Golden Serpent will contain some very good prizes, which is going high in the second-hand market. (Some of you old members, might guess what I am referring too)
The prize support in the last Golden Serpent was EXTREMELY impressive. Downright amazing. Overall, it was a superb competition in all aspects: contest entries (both painting and conversions), organization and the aforementioned prizes. It was great seeing all the amazing work put forth by our community. Personally, it pushed me to take on a project that I was previously hesitant to take a chance on.

Kudos to everyone who helped create and facilitate such a fantastic contest!

If the prize you are referring to is what I think it is, that is very exciting indeed!! :wideyed:

Regardless, with @NIGHTBRINGER's K'daai Destroyer, your Chaos Siege Giant and my project-that-has-yet-to-be-revealed, it's high time we had another Golden Serpent contest - would our glorious leader @The Red Devil agree?
I have two really big project ideas for the next Golden Serpent contest. They both intimidate me a little... but that is the way it should be.

Not sure which of the two I would choose to do.

Finally figured out how I was going to make the blunderpole-armed "brethren" for my critically lost Skaven in Necromunda.

I spent a good while thinking of how I was going to incorporate a blunderbuss or shotgun into the rusty halberd, when it hit me that I should probably cannibalize the rest of my Orlock combat shotguns for this.

I am working on 2 Easterling Kataphrakts and Easterling Warpriest
(Sadly I broke of the end of the Warpriest's staff... anybody got a tip to restore thin finecast pieces?)

Grrr, Imrahil

Choices? Pray tell us your review of the kit

mantic's cost cutting has struck again. the details on the bodies stretch out on the left and right sides of the model, which is indicative of a mould engineer bad at his job, but mantic signing off on it anyway.

Got the motivation to build two more stormvermin with blunder-poles last night.

With stormvermin as my gangers and clanrats as my juves, this is what I have so far:

I was thinking of doing something like this to make a unit of Scions for my Skaviir Dominion army...

I'm doing self care today.

I haven't given myself a day off in a week. I'm recovering from a minor infection (yay ingrown nails - not!)

So, I'm resting today to recouperate, and painting some skeletons with 3d printed shields
