AoS Eastcoast GT: KC took 5-0 (not my list)

Yeah I remember that from our game. But it came up in a match up concerning the exact order of operations for the start of hero phas stuff. I didnt want to argue the point I can see it being both ways.

1. pick battle tactic
2. heroic action
3. any start of turn army stuff (like asterisms)
4. hero phase stuff

They seemed pretty strict on that order. so I didnt bother. Didnt care as most of the time it works out either way.

Is there some sort of RAW interpretation of what order you do start of turn stuff?

They are mistaken, if something is start of hero phase the player who's turn it is has control over the order of those abilities. Check rule 16.2 for further clarification!

As far as I know the battle tactic or heroic action section doesn't specify that these actions take place outside of that general rule as they both just say "at the start of the hero phase" with no additional stipulations.

If they had to be done before other start of the battle phase actions I would think the rule would say "before the start of the hero phase".

thanks, I will make sure to be able to reference that in future if it comes up. There were other bad tactical choices, it wasnt just trying to get that battle tactic. But I am enjoying the metamorph spell as a back up to get it

it looks like he almost got max points every round. so id say he was very objective focused. thats a playstyle a lot of aos players just dont get. they want to line up like fantasy and go smash. aos it isnt that game anymore. its 40k lite. you gotta always focus on primaries and secondaries.

I get it but you need the ressources to do what you plan to do. I play every weekend against Lumineth ans Tzeench and each battle depend on the balance list of my opponent

How do you take back an objective if you cannot kill what it is on or be more numerous ? Thé list has not a lot of control or lethality
Same with killing a battleline or thé général, same with grand strategy

Ton of lethality. Knights are great with a few buffs, as are carnos and engine. Slann, chamo and realmshaper do work on heroes. Plenty of damage in the list, especially against lumineth and tzeentch.

I am sorry but it's not true
Knight Can Do few mw with starpriest yes but Carno lack of rend against Lumineth, Slaan is easy to dispell, EothG is only Rng

You're simplifying the argument too much.

The list obviously works. Is it going to work 100% of the time into 100% of thr lists on 100% of the battleplans? No, but nothing does. It has plenty of tools to deal with enough in the right players hands to go 5-0 at a massive tournament playing against good players.

There's more to playing the game than list design.

Damage output against lumineth and tzeentch is largely not an issue as those armies are relatively squishy. Tzeentch especially.
