It's good we have some more StarTrek memes.
If the efficiency is enduring unspeakably awful things, then yes, this applies.
I like watching let's play videos of Star Trek Online. I don't like playing Star Trek Online as much because it's awkward to steer a ship with four letters on the key board.
There's not as much individual roleplaying opportunities but I like the idea of playing Molly O'Brien. Normally you play someone early to mid twenties year old cadet newly graduating academy in 2409.
But I have an backstory to correct this based on that I like science focused characters.
I liked when a time duplicate of Molly survived alone on a jungle planet for 10 years and became a badass. What could she do with training.
That would make Molly over forty and not a new recruit.
I figure when Molly was approaching 18, her parents explained all the details to her about her time duplicate and she heard most of the stories of what her dad experienced.
Molly first realization: My father holds the Starfleet record for most horrific weird shit endured by any single human being. More than anyone on the crew of
Voyager.
Molly's second realization: I was born in a turbolift with Worf serving as my mom's midlife and later my life was saved by my own time paradox duplicate. I have inherited my father's trait for being a magnet for weird shit.
Conclusion: I'm going into botany like mom, stay away all this crap.
She was mostly through getting her botany degree when on a class field trip helping on routine plant surveys of weakly charted worlds, it turns out by sheer dumb luck, the Orion syndicate was trying to smuggle contraband within their shipment of plant samples.
Molly stumbled onto. There was a phase fight, Molly dove for cover but a crate of contraband radioactive chemicals exploded near her igniting a misunderstood alien plant sample which put Molly into stasis for almost 30 years.
When she woke up, the first to greet her was her baby brother, now 25 years her senior. He had an unremarkable life becoming a musician like his grandpa wanted, though he converted to the Bajoran religion which is a little odd, but he was always close to his Aunt Nerys.
"There is no escaping my father's curse, so I might as well join Starfleet."
I do not play STO much but I do have human female science focused officer I customized to look like a Asian/Caucasion mix and named her Molly Miyaki Worf O'Brien.
If you play through Star Trek Online, you can easily beat Mile O'Brien's record for weird shit happening to one person.
I would point out that for most of the series, Odo doesn't have blood, and this actually becomes a salient point.
I'm sure Quark would part with some blood if you paid him.
