What are you doing today hobbywise?

I spent last night working on my 30 heavy dwarf infantry, priming all of them and getting a basecoat on five of them. I also put some more paint on some Savage Orcs.

I was struggling with the dwarfs earlier because I didn't bring any bases on my work trip, so I went down to Dollar Tree to see what I could find to help. I bought a back of craft sticks and some poster putty to make some makeshift painting handles. I was able to get 5 bodies completed, as well as 15 more basecoated, washed, and drybrushed.

Nice-looking Oathmark Heavy Infantry! I plan to get some of those at some point to use as Khazad Guard and Iron Guard for my Middle Earth Dwarves!

Back to list building for the time being.

Adapting my 2500pt Aqshian Coalesced list for use with the new reinforcement limitations imposed by the recently unveiled 3rd Edition updates. Still using the 61-saurus Sunclaw in Thunder Lizard, this time with an oldblood on carnosaur as both Battalion leader and Warlord. I may keep the 3rd salamander in the hunting pack for the double-bastiladon Thunderquake, or parse that 5th reinforcement point to a non-battalion unit of terradons with sunleech bolas. Already packing a starpriest and starseer in the list from before for CP gain, so no change there.

Also took a moment to review the build plan I'm pursuing with my Tau army. Possibly looking at 5 infantry teams in total (2 breachers, 1 strike, 2 pathfinders) in the near-term, and padding out with a 5-piranha raiding force armed with seeker missiles and burst cannons among other developments. Stealthsuits and broadsides may come later, along with Devilfish transports.

Today I added some more to my growing range of SPQR models with some Republican Legionaries:

Combine them with a sprue of four I got free with Wargames Illustrated and I’ll have 16 of those which is generally enough for a Roman SPQR Warband.

On Monday I also found a very rare non-US-exclusive Palpatine Star Wars figure who, when I contemplated buying him, demanded that I “DO IT”. ;)

I rewatched the Midwinter Minis instruction video on washes in preparations for my Hierotitan next step.

Other then the green on the cold ones, which I did last night, and one I had dinner previously as a sample for myself, I did these guys today.

And here in a little bit I plan to prime a carnasaur and starpriest.

Had fun GMing the first session of a WFRP campaign with the onboard gaming group last night. Being Session Zero, we now have the motive for everyone knowing each other (a series of misfortunate events involving a fortune teller accidentally dooming children in front of a priest of Morr, a sleuth investigating a lamppost, a drunk dwarf in exile, and a smuggler whose purse got cut), found a plot to follow up on, and a potentially recurring Skaven villain.

All this while terrorizing a halfling thief nicknamed "Shortround" (with a macabre Skaven puppet show, no less) and his boss Fritz "The Hank" Heinrich.
